Loved Every Stitch 😏
This was my first introduction to the idea of craftivism! I love it. This was a fun journey through the history of knitting, with a little crochet thrown in at the end. There were bits that were also memoir of the author that really enriched the whole book. My favorite part was the part toward the end about the knitting and crocheting brain.

GingerAntics My only complaint is that I wish it had been longer. I needed more yarn craft love! Absolutely worth the read. #knitting #crochet #crochetersoflitsy #knittersoflitsy #craftersoflitsy #yarnarts 6d

Cross-stitch and crochet. They both require counting. Not sure what it is about counting, but somehow it calms me. I count a lot when I‘m stressed.

Yes, there are books. About 20 years ago, when Millennials rediscovered and revived the yarn arts (yes, I give them full credit), the tagged book was popular.

Sace I loved that book! There was a great pattern for a bag which I made and used for a lunch bag. 3w
TheBookHippie Ohhhh I‘ll have to get this book for my daughter!!!! 3w
lil1inblue I have this book! 🤩 I also find counting to be very soothing. 🥰 3w

Reading and crochet update. Here are my books and granny squares from January to May.
They need to be blocked, and then I'll start joining them all together.

I look forward to every S.A. Barnes book. It‘s how I discovered sci-fi space horror and I‘m all in.
They are just so much fun. I should have tried them sooner as I‘m a big space monster movie fan.
This was a lot of fun; quite the ride. Perfect? No. But FUN. If anyone has any recs on books like this, please let me know below.
For those who have read this, I have a question in the comments.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

MaleficentBookDragon What was with the damn button?!?! Was it just to wear her down mentally and physically? I also wanted more of Karl. He died too fast. 2mo
candc320 I thought the same thing about the button! I think it was just a way to get people to the ship to do the “job” and then they have to walk around and be vulnerable for the monster. Also, I assumed Karl would actually be an AI or just not on the ship, so I was a little disappointed he was just working for Zane. 2mo
MaleficentBookDragon @candc320 I was thinking Karl was going to be some Frankenstein type doctor using the bodies in the tanks to make a monster or something. I wanted more of him and from him. I also really thought Niina was going to get away somehow and show up at the end. She would be an amazing villain in a second book. The end seemed rushed when we finally got there. I still loved this one though. 2mo

candc320 I agree completely! 2mo
Kitta I was just thinking about your book blanket haha 2mo
RosePressedPages I definitely agree! I wish the suspense and dread had been built up a little more too. Once the big reveal happened, there wasn‘t very much time spent really fleshing it out. Sometimes I feel like Barnes shies away from committing to the horror she creates but I did think this one was very fun. Some space horrors I‘ve found so far are Paradise-1, Scourge Between Stars, Salvation Day, Contagion, We Have Always Been Here, and Ship of Fools. (edited) 2mo
MaleficentBookDragon @RosePressedPages Thank you! I'm going to check those out. 2mo

2/5⭐ Very bloated, repetitive, surface-level text. Appropriates things like chakras, spirit animals, and mojo bags. Cites freaking Silver RavenWolf. Pretends to be general witchcraft when it's clearly Wicca. The projects are mostly very basic. I like the idea of incorporating witchcraft into fibercraft, but this book didn't inspire me or give me any ideas I couldn't figure out on my own with just a moment's thought.

5feet.of.fury That‘s too bad, seems like a good concept! 3mo
