panI‘m not sure what I thought I was getting into, but this was…not for me. I did finish it though, so theres that. I feel like it is possible to write about taboo or “naughty” subjects if there is enough substance or angst to go along with it, but this didn‘t have that.
I think I got sucked in by the pretty dress on the cover. Has happened to me before. I can‘t think of anyone I would recommend this to 🤷🏻♀️
pickThis is book 3 in the Lost Things series and what a great addition. At first I wondered how this could compare to the first two books and where it would take Xanthe. Although slow initially when it took off I couldn‘t put the book down. It was a whirlwind adventure of whimsy and danger while Xanthe time travels as a Spinner once again to restore peace and history. I can hardly wait for the next installment in this series. What a cliff hanger!
so-soFinished the first book toward my #SummerEndReadathon goals! I just really needed a book that was a bit mindless - not sad, deep, or depressing. This read fit the bill. It is not a standalone, though, and I haven't made up my mind if this trilogy is worth continuing. @TheSpineView

pickThis series is actually three novellas. There were things I liked and things I didn't about this series. The first dislike being that in several ways it was just a retelling of Fifty Shades of Grey. Troubled super rich guy, into kink, girl runs he finds her, buys girl a business, etc. Also, I wished the story was a little more fleshed out and the ending was just wrong. Totally unbelievable! Not even plausible! I get that it is fiction, but...
One of my favorite stories - I believe there is series based on these characters. I might have to read it after this little taste of their story. Unless it‘s connected like blackout: the novel - I am not going to read these stories in order. I will say they do get a little dark in some cases.
