Jessica Davis used to think it was an honest-to-God tragedy that only twenty-six percent of women believed in true love. 💗💜💛
My sweet daughter brought me a loaded tea today! It‘s a gorgeous day here in Mississippi 🌞

It was a great read! I think the context is interesting and the main characters ❤️ I find interesting Jess‘s personality, she‘s like most women overthinking everything and at some point sabotaging because of self doubt. Simply loved it. 2024

1. No
2. The tagged book is a recent read - a romance that asks if you could, would you find your soulmate based on DNA?
Loved it! A romcom about a DNA-based matchmaking service that is predicted to change the the dating world forever. Jess, a single mom and statistician, believes in the reliability of numbers, but finding a soulmate with DNA? On a whim, she sends in her sample. She‘s stunned when she‘s matched at 98% compatibility with the company‘s founder, Dr. River Peña. Because she already knows him, and he cannot be her soulmate!

I absolutely devoured this! ?
A unique romcom where a matchmaking company uses DNA to find customers' "soulmate" with surprising results.
I really enjoyed the STEM theme of the science behind the matchmaking and the statistics. But, the highlight of the story was the relationship Jess had with her daughter, Juno.
Wonderfully unique, heartwarming, witty, and emotional. Perfect.
I reread this one to refresh all the characters in my mind before read The True Love Experiment. I actually enjoyed this one a lot more the second time around, but I still think this book needs some chapters from River's perspective. He's really introspective, so we never really get what's going on in his brain. Overall fun, and pretty typical fare from this writing duo.
Well, this is pretty stinking adorable! Not a bad way to spend a Friday night at all! 🧬💕
Quick, fun, easy audio book. These are the kind of books that I probably wouldn‘t sit & read but a good listen for my commute. Kudos for the authors for painting a scientist & what they do as sexy. I joked with my geneticist husband about this & he‘s like yeah nothing of what I do could be described like that. If you enjoy light romance(ish) books this one is decent. I also enjoyed all the references to San Diego since we lived there for 12 years
I‘ve started this one on audio & can‘t help but chuckle through some of it. My husband has his PhD in Genetics, he did his post doc research at UCSD. This was his lab building (Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine). It looks old out right over the Pacific Ocean & Torrey Pines golf course. It‘s also right next to the Salk Institute. As this book is describing the building for the company I can not imagine where it would be since there are

What are you reading? 😊
This wasn't my favorite Christina Lauren book, but it was still super cute. I almost liked Jess' relationship with her daughter, Juno, and her best friend, Fizzy, better than the romance with River. 😬 An interesting relationship/romance premise though and as always, the writing is great. #bookspin #bookspinbingo #greatread
It‘s only a one floor ride but it‘s insanely slow so I was able to read a whole chapter.
This was my first non-YA book by this writing duo and it was really good! I thought the dialogue was really natural and the relationships built in a great way. I would definitely read more of their books if I‘m looking for a romance. Thanks for the recommendation @BennettBookworm !
I finally found a romance writer that I like. First, I like the premise of the book using DNA to predict relationship longevity. It made me ask myself "Would I really want to know?" The authors do a great job of addressing how this knowledge could influence a relationship positively & negatively. I found the single mom aspect & the fear of your child falling in love with a new partner relatable. I think I liked Unhomeymooners more but still ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book took me a minute to get into, but really picked up about 45% of the way in. Could your soulmate be found using your DNA? The fictional Dr. Peña at GeneticAlly thinks so, until it happens to him. Single mom Jess, her spitfire daughter Juno, best friend Fizzy and the amazing Nana Jo and Pops have a tight knit village with no openings for newcomers. But what happens if you think you are pre-determined to fall in love? Only time will tell!
Christina Lauren always hit the mark for me! This was the perfect palette-cleanser in between reads 💛
Another good one by Christina Lauren. Jess is a single mom who signs up for a new dating service that uses your DNA to find your 'soulmate'. When she gets paired with the grumpy CEO of the company with the highest compatibility score they've ever seen, the two reluctantly spend time together to see if the data is accurate.
Fairly low angst and cute family dynamics ☺️
Super cute 🥰 read , nothing like the one book or tv 📺 show so much better ! If a good gentle escapist story of romance is your bag , then you‘ll love ❤️ this ! My #doublespin for may #bookbingo @TheAromaofBooks on to the next for a full bingo can I do it before end of the month 😆
I felt this quote in my soul… (glad the book had a very happy ending though)
“She couldn‘t throw caution to the wind. That was a luxury childless people had, people with free time and fewer responsibilities. Boring, safe plans hadn‘t steered her wrong yet.”
My next book a day choice was the soulmate equation. Clearly sticking to the science romance theme, this book didn‘t disappoint. I don‘t think I need to say much more than there is cat named pigeon- so of course I loved it 😂

This story was a lot of fun and I laughed out loud several times. The tension between River and Jess was just right and they were both likable enough that I could root for their union. I loved that Jess was a single mom with some genuine heartaches of the past to work through, along with concerns about how a relationship might affect her child, should things get serious with River.
This modern romance was just great. I loved the premise DNA soulmate matching (if only) and the characters were all quite endearing. This is not my go-to genre but this was smart, sexy and I loved it!
There exists no Christina Lauren book I don‘t finish in less than 24 hrs, with a full heart and wistful tears in my eyes 🥲the immersion, the universe, the lightning through my chest: this is why I love to read. I loved these characters; I loved the authenticity, the imagery, the bubbly love I felt buzzing in my body. Thank you Christina + Lauren for always reminding me why books are so fun! 💕
This book was on fire. 😝😉 It surprised the heck out of me. The writing was light and airy, relatable to real life. The data driven soulmate part was intriguing and made me question what the outcome of my husband and I would be 😬 A cute and heartwarming page turner for sure.
I know it‘s not Wednesday anymore but thank you for the tag @EadieB !

This was another feel good romcom from Lauren. The characters are likeable, and the storytelling is good. The DNA match premise is maybe a tad much, and the romance follows the usual formula (which led cynical old me to a few eye rolls), but I was mostly able to push my cynicism aside and enjoyit for what it is. ❤
4.6⭐️ this was such a cute and fun and easy read. It was exactly what I needed to help me get out of my reading slump. I love the chemistry between all the characters, the character development and the sweet comedy that made me giggle all the way through. It was also very interesting take on dating sites. Definitely recommend.
