pickA great collection of 12 short stories with appearances by Miss Marple, Poirot, Tommy & Tuppence, and Mr. Parker Pyne. These were previously published before, now compiled in a beautiful hardback. I enjoyed some of the stories more than the others, but overall these are entertaining stories to read if you prefer something light and cozy.

pickWhile her short stories don‘t have the same depth as her novels, this was a great collection. Witty and charming with several standouts that I‘d read again. When I was younger short story was one of my favorite genres. At some point I got disillusioned, reading mostly books with 1 or 2 great stories and the rest meh, and just feeling like it wasn‘t worth my time. But this year I had a really good year with short stories! I read a few meh anthologies, but the 3 pictured reminded me how much I loved the format. I‘m going to try the tagged book next, but I‘d love recs for short stories to read next year!

pickI am finding it incredibly difficult to rate this seasonal anthology. As is the case with many story collections several pieces simply didn't work for me (The Coming of Mr. Quin & The World's End), yet most of them did. The initial work in the collection-Three Blind Mice, & at almost 80 pages, the longest is my favorite not only from this collection but works by Christie that I have read. I exercised admirable self control and did not buy the illustrated Dracula. Although it will more than likely be picked up at some point over the next couple of weeks. Bought two literary magazines: the new issue of Bookmarks & Oh Reader. I have not read Oh Reader, but it looks charming. Also picked up the newly edited collection of winter themed Christie stories. A bit of a cash grab, since I have her collected stories but I like the seasonal 👇
