⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Holy crap this book is good. It‘s been several years since I read the first, but a few pages into this one it all came flooding back—and I‘d like to read the third book right now, please.
I have been in a huge book slump, but finally pulled myself out. 🎉
Gemina is the 2nd book in this trilogy. I enjoyed the new characters & it was just as action packed as the first. I like the visuals they add in to emphasize different parts.
I think my favorite detail was the computer virus in form of the pop song Lollipop playing and popping up all the time. 🎵
On to the finale!
1. Yes
2. Gemina with Nik and Hanna
Tonight Pippin is joining me while I read and my partner plays Zelda. He is not impressed with how much room this book takes up on my lap.

I really liked rereading this for the #FabulousFebruary #Readathon. While I liked the Ezra\Kady story line better, Nik and Hannah didn't disappoint. This time I'm going to finish the series!

Following suit from Illuminae, I LOVED this book! The new set of characters on the Heimdal are great and I loved the appearance of Kady and AIDEN. Again, a physical + audio book tandem read is highly recommended! There is a "song" in this one and it is hysterical to hear!
Book 2 of the Illuminae Files, it takes place 5minutes after Illuminae ends. Same format, same great action and dialogue. There's a new couple to cheer for as well in Hanna, the pampered Captain's daughter, and Nik, understudy in a crime family with an almost heart of gold.
Wow... This book was amazing! Look at it! Even the cover and pages are pretty! This book was filled with visuals that were very nice and they also helped keep me engaged, seeing that it‘s quite a long book. Totally recommend to anyone especially people who like to read science-fiction. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
And blood and loss and tears and screams do not matter anymore. Because at least they are together.
“Patients and Silence had one beautiful daughter. And her name was Vengeance.”
“OMG Dad, you are mortifying.”
“In that case, I can only assume I am parenting well. I believe it comes with the job description.”
He let her put tiny braids in his hair, as long as she didn‘t tell. He could do push-ups while she sat on his shoulders. He let her practice her punches on him. She looked at the stars. He looked at her.
I loved this book and couldn‘t put it down. When I finished it, I felt that I needed to read the next one immediately. This is turning out to be one of my favorite seres ever! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AND YET AS I WATCH HER THROUGH HER PLAMPAD.
I CANNOT HELP BUT WONDER.
IF THE THOUGHT OF SAVING ALL THOSE LIVES AND HOPES AND DREAMS.
PALES IN COMPARRISON.
TO THE THOUGH OF SEEING HIM AGAIN.
“You might get only one shot. So shoot. You know who said that?“
The rifle clatters to the bloody floor.
“Hanna ----ing Donelly. That's who.“
That faded blue catches fire as her smile blooms bright. And blood and loss and tears and screams do not matter anymore, because at least they are together.
I read this in one sitting. It will never cease to amaze me that paying just $12.99 can get you an experience this forking good! I love this series so much!
Alas, I have emerged and come to tell you all that this book was fantastic. Loved it. Now excuse me while I burrow into a nest and disappear again to finish this trilogy!
Kthxbye
How I‘m spending the remaining few hours I have left at work 🤗
I hope everyone has a great start to their weekend 🌻
Told you I was whizzing through this! Kaufman & Kristoff are geniuses at making me turn pages and suck me into the story! The last line, “You wanna know how it ends?” Hell yeah! Fortunately the next book is on a bookshelf upstairs. This is an amazing series - just fantastic! #FabulousFebruary #WinterRespite #SERIES2021 #SHUTDOWNRound2 #BFC21 #BookSpinBingo #21 #100YEARS100BOOKS
This book was a nice book but it sadly not my taste, and I thought that I won‘t continue the series because it wasn‘t my type and why read a book not my type. I personally say it‘s not such a good book but I have a friend that really liked it so it isn‘t a bad book. I will go with a so-so but I really can be ‘pick‘ if you like science fiction and books that are set in space.
❐ Overall Rating 5 | Narration 5+
This book was not quite as good as the first book...but it was still excellent, the parallel universe element lost me a bit...but with my re-listen, I definitely got a better handle on what transpired. I‘ve now read this book once and listened to the audio twice.
This made me laugh so hard... I know it doesn‘t seem that funny but you gotta read the rest of the page! It‘s hilarious, but full of spoilers.
Why do all of the books I read end with a cliffhanger? Can someone please explain? Anyways, the book was great. The series just keeps improving! Can‘t wait to get the last book in the series!
My 5 star reads for 2020. I‘m a bit surprised looking them over, I‘m not normally a big fan of non-fiction and two made the cut this year. I think Gemina was my overall fav, I just wasn‘t expecting it to be as good as it was and I haven‘t shut up about it since 😋. Crescent city was a close second, I‘ve already re-read it
I finally made it to 50 followers! I can‘t say I did this all by myself and so I give a special thanks to everyone that is following me. (I couldn‘t list 50 people individually so this was my idea)
Continuing #24B4Monday by listening to book two in the Illuminae Files Series. So far got 1 hr 56 mins on Saturday bring total reading up to 6 hrs. A quarter of the way there! Need to read 18 hrs in 35 hrs 20 minutes if to complete it.
Finished the first book yesterday, so moved straight onto book 2 of this trilogy during my commute today. #24B4Monday
Blew me out of the water! Just like the first book, #Gemina was hard to put down. The ending definitely pushes you to buy the 3rd book, so I guess I‘m seeing Obsidio in my doorstep sometime soon. The only issue I ever had is the inapposite sense of humor (just like the first book). Lots of joking in the middle of a crisis. This seems to be true for the first book as well, so maybe it‘s just something I need to get used to. Nevertheless 10/10!
Next up, the #trope-icalreadathon. Readathon 2 of 5 for August!
Note: I'm trying to tag a book with each that I am fairly certain that I will read for a chosen prompt 👌
Forgot to post last week's book haul, part 2! Clearly I was on a YA binge, as everything but All My Mother's Lovers are YA. Tagging the one I think I'll read first out of these, which is Gemina (I had previously started it as an ebook borrowed from the library, but for some reason couldn't get into it in that format!)
🎧 UGH! I‘m on the fence. What are your thoughts. The Audible was definitely fun with a cast and sound effects that were actually pretty good but I was either glued to the story or frustrated with it. More happy than not so I‘m reading book three! ⭐️⭐️⭐️4/5
I love this series! Admittedly, I like the plot if the first one better because it's so damn creepy...but I love Nik and Hanna (and not just because she spells her name thr correct way/does martial arts). Aiden is...in a strange twist...BAE.
And this is how I spend my afternoons. New book. New adorable little house.
I stayed up until 5am last night reading Gemina and it was worth absolutely worth the sheer exhaustion I feel now.
This was so good, and I can't believe I had reservations about it. I listened to audio while reading and I really recommend doing that if you can bc it has a full cast and some of the more impactful pages are so well done. (That being said, definitely have a print copy for the full exp)
Morning Star is up next!
Loving Gemina so far!
I have changed how I read. The entire time I had little interest in reading I kept thinking about annotating my next book, but the idea of writing in my books is just...no. So my past 4 reads have been full of sticky notes. It's been a lot of fun and keeps me focused. 💕
Working on putting together a Discord for #BBBBC while I listen to an audio. Its coming together rather nicely I think. I will send out the invite links as soon as I get everything polished up.
I am also playing around with Slack because a few people mentioned it, but I am finding it very...chaotic. I can't seem to make folders and its honestly kind of frustrating. Am I simply overlooking something?
My TBR for the next 7 days! I'm a bit overly optimistic that I will finish more than 2 of these but I am excited to get started.
Gemina is up first since it was on my previous TBR.
