Prompt: The Little Mermaid
My friend lent me the first two books of this series, but it took me so long to get through the first one. It was generally a pretty entertaining young adult romance involving the authors version of mermaids. It wasn‘t cringey or anything, I‘m just not a fan of books set during high school. However, the cliff hanger at the end was insane! And I‘m very jealous of Emma‘s encounter with Titanic (the scene from the book in the photo).
By the end of the second chapter it felt like Emma was a friend not a character, the tragedy she faces at the beginning had my heart hurting for her, Galen is well Galen, a prince if his "people" torn between duty and love, while it was a bit predictable in places I still lived it and have started if Triton, I hope it goes as well as the first.
This was a great book. I love the dialogue between the characters!! It was very light and funny. I love the mermaid element. I haven't seen that many mermaid books 🧜🏽♀️
It's not every day that you meet a real Prince let alone a Prince of the Syrena.
I have to say I really enjoyed this book! It was a random pick off the shelf from my last library visit. I don't think I've really read many books about Mermaids or Syrena as they are called in this series. The last line of the book makes me wish I immediately had the next one in the series to start on. Now I want to find more mermaid related books to check out.
Sitting outside listening to the rain and reading this library book. Hopefully the storms dont get too bad again later (plus the next several days still) but at least I've got plenty to read. Besides we've had so much rain I could almost be a mermaid myself 🤣

"Funny how a little sleep, a little makeup, and a lot of contemplation can make you feel like a different person — a stronger version of yourself."
Typically I don‘t do mermaid books but someone suggested I give this series a god and the first book was very interesting. I would recommend it for those who like mermaid romance.
Finally read it! Loved it! I could relate to the characters and could picture the setting. I also didn‘t mind the alternating points of view. Great writing style. At the beginning, Galen and Emma meet by running into each other (literally). When they touch, they sense a connection. What does the connection mean? Recommend to young adult book lovers. #ya #youngadult
As a mermaid fanatic, I just had to get a photo of this book on my mermaid corset! Due to the subject matter, this book already started off well for me. This was a delightful YA read, full of mermaid mythology and romance, finished off with a fun heroine. While the book itself didn't have as much action as Wake or some other books, it was still a great read and I didn't feel like it lagged. Need to start reading the second one asap.
Fun Fact! I have so many unfinished series on my shelves I don't think any amount of time will ever see me get through them! I'm such a series hoarder - I'll often buy the second and third book in a series and then not read them AT. ALL. 🙈

Finished listening to this #audiobook while picking up dinner. It's a fun story with romance and mythology, and even though the revelation was so predictable, I think I'll have to keep going with this series. #Readathon #SpringCleaningReadathon #MountTBR
This is the definition of trashy YA and I almost bailed about 50 pages in but persevered and actually had a lot of fun. Was in the mood for mermaids and this delivered. Although it definitely is not without its problems, it's entertaining and is a fast paced easy read 🐬
Most of the book was meh - too much romance drama. The last 10 pages... wow!
It just can't end that way! 😵
How beautiful is this epub edition? 💖
Fell asleep in the morning but now I'm really into #OfPoseidon
When you wake up at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning and can't sleep anymore... What to do? READ 😁

This was a re-read (actually listened this time) with our 16 yo houseguest. I have no idea how I forgot key parts of the story line but we both enjoyed it. She wants to read the next book in the series.
“There‘s nothing wrong with your daughter, Mrs. McIntosh. I said we‘re not sleeping together. I didn‘t say I didn‘t want to.”
Have this on hold and I'm waiting.... Just waiting.... Still waiting....

I read this over a year ago at a time where I needed a light read, and it didn't disappoint. It's very predictable, and super cliche, but fun nonetheless. Typical ya writing style, and I recommend reading it when you're feeling particularly relaxed, and want something light. 3 stars!
