This novel is a heartbreaking yet cathartic tale of love, loss, & grief, told through Silvera's melancholic lense & beautiful prose. Griffin, lost amongst his grief & obsessive compulsions after discovering his ex-boyfriend Theo has died in a drowning accident, must revisit his history with his first love in order to accept that he must leave him in the past. I laughed, I cried, I paused to simply absorb the narrative, then ugly cried some more.
A love story to rival all YA romance.
How my heart keeps breaking.
Beautiful narrative, beautiful characters, beautiful storytelling... just beautiful... I'm suspecting a great many upsets before I'm finished.

Note to self: do not read anything by Adam Silvera when you're sick and can't sleep in the future (especially when that book is #historyisallyouleftme and you're also listening to the Spotify playlist for the same title). My chin keeps wobbling, and I'm seriously questioning why I keep putting myself through all of this heartbreak 💔. #adamsilvera #firstlove #heartbreak #ya #love #LGBT
Anyone else doing any of the Story Graph reading challenges? If so, which ones? And do you only add the books on Story Graph or do you also do a notebook with all your challenges in there?
These are the ones I've committed to so far but might add some more later.
Would love to see what everyone else is doing :)
(Tagged my current read -- which btw is SO pulling at my heartstrings right now)
⚠️Spoilers⚠️So sad! I thought Jackson and Griffin were going to hook up eventually, but the whole scene was heartbreaking. When he starts doing the kisses?! I could feel the out of body experience of betrayal. I liked Theo a lot, he always seemed ethereal and idealized; by the end of it, they were all flawed. The fog of love consumed all of them and bound them together. (And not even because Griff literally hooked up with all 3 guys in the story)
*spoilers without context above! 🤪 Great book! The story hits harder the farther you go into it, which just demonstrates the beautiful writing. So much about love, mental health, friendship, sexuality, and grief, and how they all come together in a completely honest and messy way. There‘s a line about letting somebody go for something that isn‘t their fault that hit me so hard. Death is weird but there is power and light in history
"I don't know what will be left of me if love and grief can't bring you back to life. Maybe I need to be brought back to life, too."
I really enjoyed this book. It was told in a dual timeline and they eventually blended into each other which was pretty cool. I definitely enjoyed the past timeline more than I enjoyed the present one. Overall it was an interesting read, but I wasn‘t wowed.

Is it just me or did anyone else find Theo slightly unlikeable?
A well told story of love, friendship and grief amongst a group of queer teenage boys. If I'd read this as a teen I'd have wept buckets, I'm sure. I hope this qualifies for #LatinxAuthor #Booked2021
I read halfway through and decided it wasn't the type of book I was currently looking for, still an awesome book.
My first #littlefreelibrary trip of 2021 was to unhaul 4 2020 reads (top). I swapped them for two new reads (bottom), which puts me at +1 owned books for the year so far, but +5 unread.
Zero pennies spent, so there‘s that!
Loved Loved this book! I loved the story and the writing style. This book is going to stay with me for a while. Is a tear jerker so be ready.

1. I won‘t be attending a horror film fest in person this year, but COVID gives me an excuse to stay at home and watch all the scary movies and read all of the scary books that I can manage!
2. I‘m grateful for some close friends, that even if I don‘t see them enough due to busy schedules or because they don‘t live nearby, we stay in touch more than ever thanks partially to COVID
Would you like to play @JPSHANK

How did you choose this book: Borrowed from a friend.
Brief Summary: This book is about a guy named Griffin who has experience something that you can't fix (Lost of a love one). Griffin keeps losing himself in his obsessive compulsions and destructive choices. If Griffin doesn't confront his history, he has no future.

Interesting story, wasn‘t my favourite book at points though, and I didn‘t relate to the characters as much as I would have liked to. 3/5
Late post, but May is Mental Health Awareness month. Here is my TBRf (To Be Read from) pile, as I likely won‘t get to them all this month. They all deal with the topic in one way or another. I‘ve already read the top two and liked them both. Now I‘m on the tagged book.
Funny story...I was so worried about dropping the books in the pool that I dropped my phone in instead 🤦🏻♀️

Thank you THRIFTBOOKS.. YOU MADE MY DAY
A lot of love ?
It‘s the last day of March! Currently reading this book, since I liked Adam Silvera‘s way of writing, I‘m hoping that I would finish this book within this day!
Oh, did I tell you that mustard yellow is my fave color?!?? Look at the book without its dust cover!! 😍

This was the first thing to come to mine when I listen to #WishYouWereHere I haven't listened to that song in ages, it makes my Mom cry because she misses Dad. But anyway I really want to read this book!! I've got to find a copy soon! #MarchIntoThe70s @Lizpixie @Cinfhen
Lots of smiles and tears while reading this one. The author has such a talent for detailing teenage boys that I can‘t help but fall in love with them. But, as usual with this author, I‘m left feeling blue at the end.
I needed a mental/emotional break from KoA. Switching genres a little bit here, in Hope's it will rejuvenate me.
Beyond amazing!! I almost bailed at the beginning as I felt a little too old (32) to relate to a YA book but I am so grateful that I stuck with it and got to experience the wonder of this novel.
First time I‘ve read this author and I absolutely love the way he turns a phrase! I‘m going to bed pretty quick here but wanted it recorded that I hit 11 hours on this #24B4Monday. I plan to do even better the next time round!
#WeNeedDiverseBooks: Adam Silvera is my favorite LGBTQ+ author. His books are so powerful and make me cry all the time. Yes it's YA and some people hold that genre in contempt, but his stories are compelling and well-written. I have read all 3 of his books, "History is all you left me" the most recently. "They Both Die at the end" is my favorite though. #24in48
So I managed to finish this book less than 2 hours into the #24in48 readathon.
I have yet to find an Adam Silvera book that hasn't made me cry. I have read all three, and although "They Both Die at the End" made me cry the hardest, this one is a close second.
I edited the pic to add the timer, because I was too much of a loser to remember to add it the first time. ??♀️

“I love you, but I can‘t stay longer.” Beautiful, suspenseful, heart-warming, devastating, genuine. This is my favorite Adam Silvera book so far. This book is so so wonderful for anyone struggling with heartbreak.
Thus book was quite the emotional ride. I do enjoy his writing.
I was warned it‘s a tear jerker I think I‘m ready to read 😂

I'm a little behind on #twointhree but it's ok because I was doing other things like watching the entire first season of American Vandal (so funny) and hanging out with my dad.
I did read an entire 51k word fanfic. That counts right? Now I'm trying to finish this and there's so much 😭. @Samplergal
Hands down now my favourite book.
This book explores sexuality, memories, friendship, mental health, and a whole host of other issues that are vital to understand in today's society. It has completely captured my heart and I know I'll be left thinking about it for days and weeks and months and years and lives to come.
That is all you need to know; this is the sort of story you should go into blindly.
Please read this ASAP and share it!
