(2021) Carey Parker is a genderqueer highschooler and Mariah Carey lamb who dreams of being a diva. Or really, being acknowledged and respected would be nice. Carey has a new boyfriend and a star role in the school musical, but also a queerphobic teacher and an incel bully. It's very YA, but I appreciated its treatment of hate as a community problem, and organized resistance as a strategy.

I enjoyed this one, but it didn't hook me like I expected it to. Isaac's almost willful resistance to embracing new things or changing his mind got old after a while, as realistic as it made him. I loved the Six, though, and the character development was ultimately pretty good! Maybe it'll hook other people more than it did me. #yalit #yaromance

First book of 2023! I'm in love with this entire concept, and Skye and Maya were the most fun. I don't know if it got as deep as it could have, but overall, it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. #yalit #yaromance

You can tell this author has written Hallmark movies, because she's damn good at them. Just over the top enough to be fun, and a great slow burn between Finley and Arthur. The perfect way to cap off Christmas! #yalit #yaromance #yachristmasromance

The way I inhaled this book!!! Celine and Brad were perfect foils, and the whole concept was just pure rollicking fun. I want more in this universe! #yalit #yaromance

This is a total YA book. All the teen feels were in here but it was kind of cute. Jenny falls for a Kpop artist and has to learn how to live her life as a future musician yet still be able to date her boyfriend.
