This was so good!!
I‘m sad this is the last time I‘m going back to Caraval, but it was such a good ending!!!
I loved it, all the twists and turns made it a great adventure. This world was so well done I love the magic and the love and the even the pain. 5⭐ Julian, Legend and Jacks are great characters I love the mystery behind them and all the love and trouble they cause.
I've read mixed reviews for this book but I really enjoyed the last installment in the #Caraval series. I do agree that it sometimes felt a bit rushed and too neat but as far as conclusions go, I'm pretty happy with this one. It was interesting to see these characters outside of the game and there wasn't a dull moment. I loved learning more about the Fates. Also, I am now more in love with Julian than ever before. ❤️
With the new puppy, I didn‘t have the time to read that I hoped to this past month, but including my Harry Potter reread, I still managed to get 9 books read. Not too shabby. 💜📚
Disappointed. I was really loving this series until the last book. Sure, there were a lot of YA tropes, but it was still magical and fun. This final book of the series seemed rushed, like the basic plot was there but the details weren‘t ironed out, with unnecessary things thrown in and loose ends left hanging. It honestly felt a little half-assed. I still enjoyed the magic elements of it, and that‘s why I‘m giving it 3 stars instead of two.
Arya has a lot of energy this morning, so I haven‘t been able to read at all, and I‘m really trying to finish the tagged book. But she cute, and she‘s enjoying the taste of tea left if my 9 3/4 mug. ❤️
Arya likes my reading bench. Now if I could just get her to settle down long enough for me to actually read.
I was mostly able to look past the faults of the first two novels (overly flowery language, romance quibbles) because I loved certain things about each of them. But it seemed like no matter what I did, I wasn‘t able to look past those things for this one. It was as if all the bad qualities from the first two were put together into one for a grand, well... finale. Perhaps without the element of Caraval, it lost the necessary magic. 👇🏻👇🏻
This is between a Pick and a So-So for me. I loved this story and all of the book, until the ending. I‘m a person who likes everything to be wrapped up at the end of a novel or series and with this one I still have some questions. It‘s an incredible story and the endings you do get are good, I just wish there was a little more to it.
With starting my new internship this week I haven‘t had much time to read but it‘s a very exciting time and I‘m loving what I‘m doing! Hopefully with this long weekend I‘ll find some time to read.
Enjoy this picture of Apollo on his new cat hammock
I‘ve read woefully little of this book so far. I‘m over the bronchitis now, so I‘m less tired than I was, but it seems Ike I just don‘t do well with interrupted sleep. Getting up in the middle of the night to take out the puppy, and then not really being able to fall back to sleep has really gotten to me. With my luck, I‘ll probably adjust right when Arya starts sleeping through the night. 😴😂
I have many feelings about this book, many many. I think the best compliment I can give to the author is that I want to go back and reread Caraval to remember everything again. Stephanie Garber has a way of creating worlds that couldn‘t possibly exist but that we can imagine must because she writes them so real. I eagerly away her next imaginings.
I fell in love with the first book of the series, Caraval, because I love fantasy when well done. Caraval was well written with scads of interesting characters, shops, events, etc. I wanted to go to Caraval I liked it so much. Finale is such a departure from the original idea that I would call it a romance with some fantasy thrown in. I didn't care which man either sister ended up with since I was too busy mourning Caraval.
My Waterstones Finale arrived yesterday. Love these hidden covers!
The hubs just brought me an afternoon pick me up, and the dogs are settling down a bit (possibly for a little nap🤞) So I‘m going to try to get some more reading done. As predicted, I fell asleep pretty quickly last night so I didn‘t get far at all.
It‘s so hard to say goodbye to the world of “Caraval” but it could not have been a more perfect “Finale” to such a spectacular trilogy. This may have been my favorite book out of the entire trilogy. It is so lush, entrancing, & immersive, that I LITERALLY had a dream of being in the world last night.
For all the books I have read in my life, there are only a handful where I want to crawl through the pages and join that world. Caraval is one of them. Between Stephanie‘s beautiful prose which paints the scene to the magic, romance and mystery within... major book hangover. Like their covers, this series is simply stunning. #worldofcaraval #stephaniegarber
