From the #1 New York Times, USA TODAY and internationally bestselling author of the fantastical Dark Elements and the Lux series comes a new novel set in a world of gargoyle protectors, rising demons and one girl with an explosive secret. Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she's been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens--gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they'll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers. When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity's safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she's ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again--but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity's secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she'll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed....

5⭐'s. Loved it! Trinity and Zayne were so amazing together! It makes me hope that Layla and Zayne will be able to reconcile their friendship, though. I'm so excited to see what happens next in this series

I liked Trinity's unique abilities and challenges. This book has some great original ideas. It has more romance in it than I'm accustomed to, and the male lead is too possessive and broody, but I could not stop reading. As with Armentrout's other novels, her characters snort too much.

I enjoyed meeting this author and hearing her personal experience with a progressive visual disability and how she incorporated those experiences into her book.

This was a terrific book. I didn‘t realize until the authors note that this was set in the same world as some of her other books. I look forward to going back and reading those. I really liked Trinity as a character. She had lots of dimension and I loved learning more about her and her abilities. I am looking forward to reading more about her hopefully in future books.

I never expected a return to this series, but I really enjoyed it. It expands and enriches the previous world-building. I do wish I‘d re-read the preceding book to remind myself of previous plot points. This book brings back all my favorite characters, but never detracts from the main.
Throughout this series, I‘ve had some doubts about how purity/souls/auras are presented. But I think there might be a more satisfying reveal coming in future books.

@petersonks15

The storm didn‘t pass us by so I took this picture for you.

Took 6 shots and Joshs hand to get this. The storms cause my windows to fog between the panes (old house) so I had to do the front door.

Lots of flash flooding but we are fine. You could almost swim in part of my yard, but the house is good. 🏊‍♀️

petersonks15 Thanks! I love it. Sorry you‘re having lots of flooding but glad the house is ok. 1mo

I had this awesome idea to take a pic of this book with the storms they‘ve been predicting in the background, except we got NONE of the storms, just a light rain last night. 🙄

My cousin and her family are visiting this weekend so I‘ve been busy around the house so I haven‘t had much time to read, but I‘m settling in for the evening and can‘t wait to see what happens.

After reading the Lux series, The Darkest Star and now Storm & Fury, Jennifer Armentrout has become an autobuy author for me. She has just the right blend of sassy, endearing, cinnamon role and plot twists; this book is no different…and now I am stuck waiting for book two of this series AND The Darkest Star. Well done Ms. Armentrout, well done.

Hummmmmm. Look what I now have 2 of. I guess that means I should give one away. So, someone from my #BBRC will won my second copy on July 1 when the challenge starts. Don‘t know what I‘m talking about, it‘s a reading challenge. Check out the tag for more info.

Eggbeater I just met Jennifer Armentrout on Monday and got a signed copy of her book. She was great. She has an amazing story herself. 1mo
LibrarianRyan @Eggbeater Yeah, last year at #BookExpo she was giving out The Darkest Star, and we (@faenoir i believe) didn't have tickets. It was the end of the last day so we stalked her booth hoping to get a copy that a ticketed person didn't come and collect because it was the end of the day. We did. She was really great about it. 1mo
Jee_HookedOnBookz This book sounds great! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I'd win it! 😁🤞😄 1mo

Happy Saturday Littens!
I was woken up illegally early this morning so I got a few chores started and decided to laze in bed for a bit with coffee, a book and a little Ru Paul.

Eggbeater I just ordered this book and I'm going to see the author on Monday. How do you like it so far? 1mo

Melissa_J Yes, I totally did pick it up at Chapters @JanuarieTimewalker13 Not sure where in US you live (assuming that‘s where you live), but Indigo/Chapters has opened a store in NJ and are planning to open a few more. 1mo
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Melissa_J I currently live in NJ!! Oooh, I wonder where in Jersey? Just looked it up!! Short Hills...ooooh la la...I used to live a lot closer to that but now I don‘t. But there‘s always online shopping!! Thank the dogs, bc malls make me dizzy! I‘m a wall crawler in malls. I don‘t like places without windows. (edited) 1mo

Mehso-so

"Yearning blossomed inside me. Like a flower seeking sun and water, it spread its roots deep." I'm sorry. I just threw up in my mouth a little. The writing style was quite plain for such a seasoned writer, and not only had I expected much better, but she chose to take risks with sentences such as above. The first half of this book struggled with no direction and felt like a chore.
Thanks to #netgalley for copy. See Goodreads for full review.
