I definitely prefer the Flappers and Philosophers collection to this one. First, so many of these stories were overtly racist, it was pretty sickening. Second, having characters commit suicide right at the end is a cop out to me. Third, why was Benjamin Button‘s mother never mentioned? How do they think an old man can physically be born? So dumb. Really disappointing and not well written or thought out.
UGH. This! This is in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a well known story by F Scott Fitzgerald. That‘s awful. 😡😡😡
I‘ve been frustrated with the racist writing in some of his short stories in this and other collections, but this one is the absolute worst. I would be totally fine if “Fantasies” went out of print or this story was taken out of the collection in future printings.
I don‘t have a dollhouse, so when I saw these on Etsy I said to myself :Who needs tiny ,little books? I need tiny ,little books!
Good collection of short stories from Fitzgerald...some classics and some not really to my taste. But overall, definitely recommended.
My serial read for the month. I don‘t think short stories work with serial reader for me. I can barely remember the first story I read. There were a few good ones but nothing that amazed me. The daily pace just didn‘t let the stories flow.
Finished this treadmill read a few days ago. Hate to give this a so-so, but these were Fitzgerald‘s earlier works — just a few I liked. Some I‘ve read before elsewhere, such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button — that one is good though.
This owl was my grandma‘s and kind of looks like Scott, I think!
My current treadmill read. 📚🏃♀️
I'm not a big short story reader, but I love Fitzgerald's stories. #30daysofreadathon

I love foiling on book covers, and these Fitzgerald editions are gorgeous 😍

Pairing some Fitzgerald short stories with REPUBLIC OF IMAGINATION, a memoir of the author's experiencing America through its novels.
When I was in high school, my favorite thing to read about was The Lost Generation of expatriate Americans living in Paris in the 1920s - especially F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway.

The Art Deco Fitzgerald Collection is one of the prettiest book series out there, and they evoke the decadence and opulence of the Roaring Twenties!
"...that particular gloomy gray in which only New York afternoons indulge"
Exactly perfect for tonight's mood.
So apparently it's hard to photograph metallic covers. But this beautiful copy came this week, and it's so chilly and cloudy this morning I can finally bust out my tea. Sadly, I won't be able to read all day since I have to go drive two hours to work on a film all day... But a girl can dream.
I'm admittedly not a big "book series" reader, but I do love a beautifully published author series. One of my favorites is the Coralie Bickford-Smith "Fitzgerald Classics".

Excellent read. Pleasantly surprised that Fitzgerald's short stories are as good as his novels. Definitely recommended.
