FINALLY FINISHED. 😁
But a great companion to the first. It tells the story, builds intensity and develops the world even more. I love the different views on characters that I loved before and how it did kinda change my mind. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

1. Yes I like Anti Hero books. 2 The Vampire 🧛♂️ Lestat was my first favourite Anti Hero thanks Anne Rice #two4tuesday@theSpineView thanks for the tag @WJCintron Tagging everyone who would like to play
Thanks to Thriftbooks, I am able to be knee deep in vampires as much as I want. 😍😍😍😍
🖤 what a storyteller. I‘m devastated. Anne got me through some really tough times, rip 🪦
RIP Anne Rice 😔 #annerice #memorial #boleybooks #booklove #willbemissed
Heartbroken this morning learning of the passing of one of my favorite authors.
A roommate/friend told me I should read The Vampire Lestat and I was hooked. I started following Ms Rice on social media and discover she was a wonderful person as well as writer.
I wish peace and comfort to her family and friends.
I immediately thought of Lestat for the Dead Man‘s Party prompt for #LittensDressedInBlood. I feel like this is definitely a song the vampire rockstar would have on his playlist. 😂 He even has a body swap accident in The Tale of the Body Thief which fits the line “leave your body at the door”. 🤣

I have plenty book with a #man on the cover, but Lestat is Lestat ❣❣❣❣
Day 13
“All the stories I have told you are finally as useless as all ancient knowledge is to man and to us. Its images and its poetry can be beautiful; it can make us shiver with the #recognition of things we have always suspected or felt. It can draw us back to times when the earth was new to man, and wondrous. But always we come back to the way the earth is now.” #QuotsyApr21
"Very few beings really seek knowledge in this world. Mortal or immortal, few really ask. On the contrary, they try to wring from the unknown the answers they have already shaped in their own minds -- justifications, confirmations, forms of consolation without which they can't go on. To really ask is to open the door to the whirlwind. The answer may annihilate the question and the questioner." — Marius — The Vampire Lestat ?
this might be my new favorite book atm. what an incredible journey! this book is rich with so many places and ever changing times and characters. parts were haunting and grotesque, funny, beautiful.. ugh!!! wow i wasn‘t expecting it be like this, what a difference it was to Interview w/Vampire yet they pair beautifully together. i can‘t wait to continue the series and soak up more of this mythos! My Lelio, My Wolfkiller ❣️
❣️
So far, this series is absolutely amazing! I cant wait to get through all of the books! It's gotten, almost, all of my attention.
I'm in love with this book. It makes me sad that my copy is falling apart...
1) Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy or Anne Rice Vampire chronicles
2) At the moment, Penny Dreadful 💀⚰️
3) No but i‘d like to start!
4) Hopefully a shit ton of Vegan Pizza 🍕🌱
5) No! but i‘ve been trying to get him into audio books lol
#FRIYAYINTRO
I don't like vampire story a but the stories by Anne Rice are classical. And I love this cover because 'Fürst' is written with golden letter.

Ok, so now I like Lestat a whole lot more than I did at the end of Interview with the Vampire. Some observations:
• Anne Rice is pretty freaking good.
• This story is ambitious, sprawling around a lot of the world and huge spans of time.
• These vampires have some interesting histories and legends.
• Tom Cruise really had no business playing Lestat. Seriously, wtf was up with that casting? 🙄
On to the next!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lestat's deep thoughts and passionate heart has some relatable feels for me. -- I've had some busy weeks with the new place, but sure setting time to enjoy the read. 🦇
Lestat!
I'm happy that it was his history as a new born vampire and not rockstar Lestat.
I'll start on my book date with The Vampire Lestat, with a clue pick on my favourite envisioned soundtrack. 🤘🏼🤓🥀 I look forward to the earlier 80's travels and music styles, throughout the rocker Lestat story!
Wow! That was a long listen at 21+ hours. I guess when you‘re immortal, you have a long story to tell. While I enjoyed this, I struggled to maintain my interest at times. I plan to read the next installment of the vampire series, but will be taking a break for awhile.
The 1st time I read this book I loved it. I wished to visit all the places described In the book- Paris, New Orleans, San Francisco, Carmel Valley... Reading this book for the 2nd time- I enjoyed it even more. As super adult (someone over her 30‘s) I have visited all the places I had only read about the 1st time (except for Egypt- that‘s still a dream). I‘ll be reading the 3rd book this month. Anyone else reading the Vampire Chronicles?
I wanted to revisit the #vampirechronicles, and while I‘m enjoying the story- I can‘t get my mind‘s eye to stop seeing Tom Cruise as Lestat! He was not what Lestat looked like in my head the first time I read the books! My Lestat was beautiful, fresh faced, a bit boyish and had a spectacular French accent! Littens- am I the only one whose mind‘s eye was ruined by this casting? 🙁
My wish list book pick for Christmas is The Vampire Lestat. 🦇 I remember reading the opening too long ago at the library. It's about time I continued the series, figuring I might skip on ahead to the Prince Lestat books; hopefully also in soft cover. ☃️ As a bonus with my Bluenotes bat onesie; the suit includes pockets, well-fitting the book. 🖤
I just love Lestat! “We are going out. But we shall do it like proper vampires...” 😂 lol

Clearly I have a thing for vampires and magic.
“Very few beings really seek knowledge in this world. Mortal or immortal, few really ask. On the contrary, they try to wring from the unknown the answers they have already shaped in their own minds—justifications, confirmations, forms of consolation without which they can‘t go on. Every time I reread THE VAMPIRE LESTAT I see new things in it, and underline new bits, and find new ways to love it. There's magic in that.
I also shake my head at fifteen-year-old me, who did. not. get. how extremely queer it is. Heteronormativity's a dark strain of magic indeed.
But yeah. I love the hell out of this book. It's a forever fave. And after a nine-year break, I'm ready to put Lestat back on my List of Favourite Literary Characters.
I made it through Marius's POV! I liked it a bit more now than I did when I was younger, but I still ended up skimming near the end. Life's too short to pay close attention to Marius.
I listened to about sixty pages of ACOWAR, too, brining my #25inFive total to 19:55. This feels doable.
I love the bulk of THE VAMPIRE LESTAT so much that it was my favouritest of favourite books for many, many years even though Marius's POV bores me silly.
I KNOW. Everyone loves him. I'm a weirdo.
Eventually I said damn the rules and skipped his bit entirely. It's been 14 or 15 years since I last read it, so this time I'm gonna TRY.
I reserve the right to skim or jump ahead if necessary. #25infive
I transferred all my clovers from my reading copy to my secondary copy and made a WONDROUS DISCOVERY: the Part title pages are different between the two editions. Even better, the trade paperback cycles between a few different designs instead of using the same one over and over.
I geek the hell out over stuff like this.
Finding four- and five-leaf clovers is my superpower, and I store them in all my favourite books. These days I tuck 'em in every 25 pages, but luckily I went with my old method for THE VAMPIRE LESTAT: 100-page intervals starting with page 150. It makes the book a bit easier to read.
I should probably transfer them all into my trade paperback copy, which I bought for curiosity's sake (and because I'm a weirdo who likes multiple formats for faves).
I read a couple arcs of ULTIMATE X-MEN, then decided to try sitting up so's I could have breakfast while I read another few chapters of THE VAMPIRE LESTAT. Now I'm at 1:47 for #25InFive.
Pain day reading. I also finished a couple volumes of Kazune Kawahara's HIGH SCHOOL DEBUT right after I woke up, and I'm sure I'll tackle ULTIMATE X-MEN again later.
This afternoon I was all, "I'm gonna conquer La TBR!"
This evening I pulled THE VAMPIRE LESTAT off the shelf just to look at it, and the next thing I knew La TBR and its 431 unread books meant zip to me.
TVL used to be my favourite book and Lestat was my Favouritest of Favourite Literary Characters, but it's been 5 years since I've reread it and 13 since I read my own copy (which matters because marginalia). Guess that's set to change.
When thinking of a #morallygreycharacter I think of those characters who do things that we might think are unconscionable, and who because of their qualities not only make us not hate them for it but also sometimes hate themselves for it. One of the best examples of this I think is the main character in so many books in this series, The Brat Prince himself, Lestat.
