If you run across this book in a second hand store, take it home! This is a 1963 edition and was my moms - you can see how well loved it‘s been. 💜 (I swap out the shortening for butter. You can tell shortening & margarine were all the rage.)

I experimented with freezing chocolate crinkle dough - and it worked! There were 18 to start. There are none now (I shared with the husband and kiddo, I promise!). They were still warm as they were being devoured!

Hobbinol I grew up with the cookie recipes from this book. It has been through a number of reprints, and I grow nostalgic everytime I see the cover. I'm going to have to get a copy too. I'm going to stack it just for old time's (old timer's?) sake. 7y

This was my dad's holiday cookie book. I don't have the tolerance for the extensive baking he undertook (we gave cookies as gifts), but I have made a few recipes out of this over the years for the holidays. I do continue to make his fruitcake recipe annually. I never understood people's dislike of fruitcake. They're apparently not using enough bourbon. #12daysofxmasphoto

Suzze I have that book from the 70's. In my version there is a cookie house. I made that with my kids when they were little (early 80's). Burned up my hand mixer making the icing glue. 7y
