I read this in 5 hours. TJR does it again with a love story that is so devourable I couldn‘t put it down! Unique plot with a fine ending.

Loved it! Emma has to pick up the pieces of her life when her husband, Jesse, goes down in a helicopter crash over the Pacific Ocean one day before their 1st wedding anniversary. 3.5 years later, Emma has built a new life and is newly engaged to be married, when Jesse is found alive and is rescued. He wants to rebuild their marriage, but Emma is torn. An excellent love triangle story!

Number one of my summer holiday beach reads. As we all know TJR is my fave contemporary author so decided to give one of her early books a go. Great beach read - easy going romance but prefer her newer stuff 😊 (even got my husband reading Carrie Soto this holiday!)
Good, simple, and straightforward love story. All the twists are in the book blurb so no surprises 👍🏽
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 The story (husband disappears in a helicopter crash at their first anniversary and then is found 3.5 years later, but wife engaged to someone else) was compelling and I whipped through it, but 😖 to all of the boundary crossing. Also some distracting plot holes. If he was lost near Alaska, wouldn‘t he have died of cold exposure? All of the emotional processing and decision making happened in less than a week after his return?? Soft pick.
I‘m maybe 3/4 through this and Jesse is making my skin crawl. I just want her to get the hell out of there. I think some of it is the dopey dude voice that Julia Whelan sometimes uses for male characters but, ugh, I do not like him at all. 😖
I took this pic on Lazy Sunday, and the coffee mug does not go along with the book… however, these are three of my favorite things: coffee, my dog, and a really good book. This was a quick read and I loved it.
7/10
This book finally brought me out of my reading rut! Although it is not my favorite TJR book, it is definitely worth the read as it was easy to be consumed by the storyline and become consumed with Emma‘s feelings as your own. However, I would say it was a tad predictable as to who she would choose in the end. But still, beautifully and heartbrokenly written, TJR once again impressed!
Did anyone else feel like the movie took all the emotion out of the book?! I was so disappointed with the movie after TJR wrote such beautiful descriptions of how to deal with grief and moving on and then the movie just took these characters, their personality, and feelings and just flattened them into these boring personas. Also.. Anyone who is #TeamJesse, you‘re WRONG. He‘s a freaking walking red flag. 3.5/5 stars
A love triangle that raises questions - Emma and Jesse are madly in love but a few years after they‘re wed he is reported dead when a helicopter goes down in the Alaska mountains. Three years later, she falls in love with an old friend/crush; then the unthinkable happens…

My initial reaction to this is, it's such a nice story. I think my favorite relationships were Emma with her parents and sister.

I‘m gradually making my way through Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s books and this is the first of her older, lesser-knowns that I‘ve read. I think she has matured & expanded in her writing since this one, but I still love her writing style. A little sappy near the end, but still a good story.
4/5 🌟
Sometimes you just need a light and easy book to escape and find solace in. Yes, it was predictable but I was in the right mood for it.
Overall, it was an OK book. I was curious to see what decision Emma would make. Interesting premise but execution not impressive...
I quite loved this one. I loved that it wasn‘t about which man to choose, but about choosing yourself. Who do you want to be? It had me doing some good reflecting on my own life: pre-marriage travel, living in cool places having fantastic experiences, and post-marriage wanting simplicity and contentment in small things. My only gripe is WHO loves daylight savings, TJR?!? Couldn‘t suspend disbelief for that fact 😂😂
I was lucky enough to get a screener of the adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s book One True Loves and it was wonderful. If you‘ve read the book, you will be happy with this film. Simu Liu is a treasure as Sam. Are you Team Sam or Team Jesse? I‘m Team Sam!
This was a unique story and was written in a way that had me all the way invested and wondering what I would do if I were in all the characters places. Really examine how I feel like I would handle it. I was also very satisfied with the ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My newfound hobby is baking while listening to audiobooks and this book was the perfect fit. Cute, made me cry, made me cringe, had the Taylor Jenkins Reid feel I always love. Plus everyone said my cookies tasted better than they normally do 😂
Throughout the whole book I kept thinking what would I do? TJR breaks the mold with her tropes: it's a love triangle but it's more than that, it's friends to lovers but also a journey of healing. It is a second chance romance but also a blessing/curse. No matter how you think about it there is no right or wrong way to go through such an experience.
Kind of an excruciating but lovely read. I was expecting the end, but not how beautifully the author would pull it off.
March #ISpyBingo, cover with a beach on it.
😬 I‘m a bit late with my review for this book (it was my #authoramonth February pick). This is the first book I've read by TJR. I'm not sure what I was expecting, a mystery or something nefarious. But this wasn't any of that. It was a love story of sorts. There's no right or wrong here, just a review of relationships, how they change over time as people change. 3/5⭐️

Question: Do you ever skip forward to the ends of your books? Take a peek at how things resolve??
I NEVER DO! But I am having such a hard time with self control on this one! I was listening to the audio which makes that impossible, but then my print copy came in & I have found my restraint very lacking!! Only about 70 pages to go. I can do it!! 🙌🏻😅
Nothing like waking up to tears on a Saturday morning. I‘m halfway through and I have no idea how this impossible situation could ever resolve into a happy ending. Heartbreaking! 💔
With this book being adapted into a film, of course I wanted to read the book before it hits theaters. This heartbreaking novel will give the reader faith that true loves does exist. It also causes the reader to ask themselves what they would do in this situation. How could you decide between two people that mean everything to you? TJR has the ability to put you into her characters' shoes which is why she is so immensely popular.
OMG! Talk about an awful situation! Woman marries the love of her life. One year later his helicopter crashes over the Pacific Ocean and he is presumed dead. After two years she moves on with her life, falls in love and becomes engaged to be married to another. Then her husband is found alive, rescued and brought home. 😳😱. What to do???? Surprisingly, I loved this! Well done! Looking forward to more of TJR. #authoramonth
This book was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad because I couldn‘t stop listening to it! This is the third TJR book I‘ve read and I have to read her others ASAP! I just could not get enough of this book and I think it‘s my favorite so far! Also, Julia Whelan is an amazing narrator and I have to listen to more of her work!
This was another winner for me. Although, I did rant about it to my husband several times and think about throwing my phone across the room if it went a certain way. But all is well, because I found the ending very satisfying. #authoramonth
I‘m excited for the movie. I was picturing Sam Clafin as Jesse until I watched the trailer, but I think it‘s just a thing for him as I‘m picturing him in another read now. #Booked2023 #featuresalovetriangle
Last night of vacation ☹️ but I had to post as this one was such a good read I could not put it down!! 😭 💔 Imagine your husband leaves on a work trip and never returns home. Years pass, you fall in love again and your husband is found. This was my first TJR book, but definitely not my last. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It has been a busy, fun filled day today - relaxing a little before dinner and bedtime for little man ❤️ Starting a new read tonight!! 📖
My first book finished for #ValentinesDayReadathon. @DieaReader @Ghabi4Roses
At first wasn‘t enjoying this as much as her other books but really picked up in the second half and had all the emotional feels you expect. Story of a woman whose husband ‘died‘ in a helicopter crash, and eventually got engaged again. Only for her husband to reappear after a few years away on a remote island. What does she do? Felt this was very well written.
This quote from my current read seems perfect for #InQuotes today. #Heart

Started one of Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s backlist books for #BackListReadathon @Clwojick @TheAromaOfBooks.
Sounds a tough one. A woman‘s love of her life (and her husband) dies in a helicopter crash. Many years later she gets engaged to love 2 of her life. Then she gets a message that her husband survived the crash and was on a desert island. What does she do?
Will be the start off book for #ValentinesDayReadathon @DieaReader @Ghabi4Roses
I think everyone knows already what this novel is about, Emma is a “widow” engaged and in preparation to her second wedding when she received a call from her supposedly dead husband. Now she has to choose. There were elements I liked about this story. During that decision process, I found Emma a little selfish and opportunistic. But I was wrong, I think that what she was facing was hard⬇️
I first came across Taylor Jenkins Reid with The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which I loved and loved every book by her since. So using #BackListReadathon to targeted her back list (the four books published before The Seven Husbands). Also started early with it this weekend. @Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks

Taylor Jenkins Reid has been hit and miss for me. I loved Eleanor Hugo and Malibu Rising, but I didn't love Daisy Jones & the Six. I enjoyed reading this one for sure, but it felt shallower than the others, maybe because it was an earlier work. There were lovely parts, and it got me in the feels more than once, but the timeline bothered me - for a few reasons - but mostly because the ending felt rushed ⬇️
This is my second TJR for #authoramonth #aam and it‘s just a soft pick for me. Emma‘s husband is presumed dead after a helicopter accident, but reappears many years later just after she had got engaged to someone else.
I really enjoyed some of her more recent stuff but you could tell this was early TJR - a bit too saccharine and schmaltzy for me. (The MC mentioned her own cute freckles far too many times!)
A light fluffy listen though.
I just fell in love and had my heart broken several times over all in one rush. There‘s nothing unpredictable here, yet somehow watching it unfold was still surprising. It takes on some major cliches, but it does so in a way that is completely without artifice. TJRs considerable mastery at bringing her characters to life is going to leave me with a major book hangover from this one.
Contemporary romance is definitely not my genre, but I enjoyed this #LoveTriangle #AuthorAMonth. Why I do challenges!
Emma married her high school sweetheart Jesse. Together they traveled the world, but when Jesse takes a solo helicopter trip, he is lost at sea. Emma heads back home deep in grief. After a time, she reconnects with Sam and takes over her parents‘ bookstore. Miraculously Jesse survived at sea. Can one woman have two true loves?
