I‘ve purchased a few new books within the last month. And then a few after that. And a few more after that. What I‘m really trying to say is that I have a ton of books to show you in my latest book haul video! https://youtu.be/wRhaTedRRSw

Me: I am done with reading challenges! They are too inhibiting!
Also me: Okay, so I‘ve decided to do this Fairytale Book Bingo challenge. Let me tell you all about it: https://youtu.be/m7gXJ6PipBg

Initially I picked three books for my September TBR pile. It seemed like a wise decision. I could select whatever my mood desired after that.
Well, mistakes were made.
I‘ve borrowed from the library and decided to do a fairytale bingo game from one of my book groups, which means I‘ve added quite a few to my pile!
TBR books not pictured: Sea Witch, The Perfect Child, and The Stranger Diaries.
Have you read any of these?
So this was 8 kinds of amazing! My love for Marissa Meyer deepens even more! This reminded me a bit of “Wicked”, but with the character building, banter, & truly realistic characters I‘ve come to love Meyer for. Her world building & symbolism is phenomenal, but it‘s her characters that truly make. Also, amazing intertextuality! “Alice in Wonderland”, Nursery Rhymes, & even Edgar Allen Poe! Just wonderful!
I went into this not knowing if it was a retelling, a spin off, an origin story, or something else...and I think in this case, ignorance was bliss and great suspense 😊 I loved how immersive the world was, and also enjoyed the dialogue. I plan to read more from Marissa Meyer!
Heartless. Talk about a journey. This book was filled with creatures and magic that brought your imagination to life. Not to mention the romance. Who doesn't want to fall for the boy they can have? The many different twists and turns keeps you hoping for a happy ending.
I am in love with this book!!!! I loved the way it ended. I get so tired of sappy love stories some times and this all just fell together perfectly and now I will never see the red queen the same again! Off with their heads!!!! 5 star read for sure! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finished Winter, very great series. Thank you @hannah-leeloo for suggesting them. You're such a great wife. Onto Heartless to find out about this Jest guy you have a crush on...
1. Chocolate 🍫
2. Love Actually, and BBC‘s P&P. And all the 90‘s movies I loved as a teen.
3. Fairy tale retellings (although “guilty” is relative, because I‘m not ashamed by any of these things!) 😃
4. Spending a day on the couch reading, of course. This is Litsy! 🤣
5. Yes ma‘am! 😘😉
The first part of the book brought out my inner child, even making me want to watch Disney's Alice in Wonderland again. Then I began to feel so incredibly sorry for Cath. Her mother was a horrible, wretched, selfish, person. I pitied Cath and felt saddened that she had no say over her own life. The ending seemed a bit rushed with her dramatic change in personality. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
And Jest. Oh, Jest! ❤😭
Wearing my necklace today. 😍
I absolutely love fairy tale retellings and think this might be one of my favourite Alice in Wonderland inspired ones! It is a fantastic tale of the how the Queen of Hearts becomes the wicked villain. The character evolution was amazing and so well done! I loved the world that was built, and all the nuances and quirks that carried over from the original tale. Such a wonderful read!
Rereading Heartless for my penultimate OWL #Magicalreadathon
I still have to read a book for Arithmancy. Do you have any suggestions? For those of you who don't know, to complete the challenge for Arithmancy, I need to read a book written by multiple authors. Currently I only have Obsidio, but I'm not really in the mood for Sci-fi.
As for #Tometopple I finished 2 tomes and I'm in the middle of HP & the Goblet of fire. 💪
I'll post soon again.
It turns out that the Queen of Hearts wasn‘t always so nasty, but instead was a lovely girl with hopes and dreams and a love of baking. This book gives us an interesting twist on the tales of Wonderland we all know, seeing familiar characters from a different perspective, and it is equally wonderful and woeful finding out how and why they become who we now know them to be.
Thank you @Endowarrior21! (I hope I got the right person ☺️) Mary Poppins looks so cute with her little bag and kite. Can't wait to dig in to the book! I'm a fan of anything Alice ☺️❤️
Thank you @kstadt929 for hosting this fun #funkoPopAndBookSwap!
1. So far, I've been trying to catch up in n Litsy posts and reading before I have to go into work tonight. (I work I've nights)
2. I have not 😢
3. Black. I also like blue. 🖤💙
4. Germany 🇩🇪
5. I recently was reading an ebook copy of Five Feet Apart that was actually an extended preview so it was only a few chapters and not the whole book, and I was so sad because I was so into it.
I expected to like this book so much more.
I didn't enjoy Cath and found her quite unlikable. Even worse though was all the sitting around she did. When she finally acted everything crashed and burned.
I very rarely dislike a book after reading it, but this one is a no from me dawg.
Catherine does not want to be queen but it is her destiny. Jest does not want to be a joker or a rook, but he he has his fate as well. Ah...I wanted like this one but I found the Cath Jest relationship to be forced and unbelievable. Also, Cath‘s dramatic personality change at the end odd. This was just not for me.
1) Marissa Meyer
2) V E Schwab
3) Traci Chee
4) Edgar Allen Poe
5) Diana Gabaldon
This was actually pretty hard... But I feel like this sums it up well. Lots of YA, fantasy, romance, and that teeny bit of crazy from EAP 😁
