Coffin Dancer
Coffin Dancer | Jeffery Deaver
Detective Lincoln Rhymes, the foremost criminalist in the NYPD, is put on the trail of the Coffin Dancer, a cunning professional killer who has continually alluded the police. Rhymes - -a quadriplegic since a line-of-duty accident -- must use his wits to track this brilliant killer who's been hired to eliminate three witnesses in the last hours before their grand jury testimony. Rhyme works with his eyes and ears, New York cop Amelia Sachs, to gather information from trace evidence at the crime scene (for a start, scrapings from the tires of the emergency vehicles that responded to the Chicago crash) to nail him, or at least to predict his next move and head him off. In the resulting game of cat-and- mouse, both Rhyme and the Dancer are constantly subject to unbelievably timely hunches and brain waves that keep their deadly shuttlecock in play down to the wire. Fair warning to newcomers: Author Deaver is just as cunning and deceptive as his killer; don't assume he's run out of tricks until you've run out of pages. By the author of "The Bone Collector."

August #WrapUp

My reading is definitely hampered by my work load.
Some evenings when I get home I'm so tired that I don't even feel like reading.

But my favourite foe this month was Deaver with Coffin Dancer, looking forward to read the entire series.

Pickpick

It captures the readers attention and keeps hold of it throughout the whole novel. As soon as you think you know what is going to happen the story takes a twists and carries you on the adventure keeping you guessing and thinking about what is going to happen next.In this novel we see more of the team that work with Lincoln and the characters are all very well described and connects the reader even more to the story

#LitsyClassics #MayLovesClassics #day23 #Disabled Playing catch up yet again, this flu is still kicking my arse.🤧 In this classic Deaver novel, Lincoln Rhyme, a leading criminalist with the NYPD is on the trail of a hitman who‘s been hired to take out 3 witnesses in a major trial. Lincoln is a quadriplegic after a large beam fell on him whilst working at a crime scene but it hasn‘t stopped him being the best profiler on the force.

Jennick2004 Ooh that cover! Subtle but satisfying! 5y
Lizpixie @Jennick2004 in the 90s I was briefly a “book club” subscriber where they sent you two books a month of their choice from your preferred genre. I ended up with 7 Deaver books in this series, all different colours with one chosen feature embossed. There‘s even a hot pink one! 5y
Jennick2004 Love! Pink is my jam hehe 🌸 I‘ll have to check the series out! 5y

Lincoln Rhyme is one of my favorite characters in the mystery/thriller genre. High energy outing, fun, quick read.

Lwsmith I've wanted to read the LR books. Is order important? 6y
Shemac77 I'm not sure. I'm only on book two and think that chronology might be important just from where the different relationships are going. @Lwsmith 6y
Dragon Agreed 👍❤️ 6y
Dragon @Shemac77 I think you'll enjoy them more in chronological order 😀 6y
Shemac77 And so I shall! Thank you! @Dragon 6y
