NataliePatalie @Blueberry It's ok. So far it just feels like a retelling of stories we already know, so I'm waiting to see if there's a good twist. 2mo

I enjoyed this! Definitely wacky, but not as silly as some of his other books. Starts pretty slow, but when it gets there...😳 Deals a lot with family loss, so definitely something to be mindful of if that may be difficult for you ❤️

I liked the first book a lot, and kind of wish they'd just left it as a standalone. This one felt very repetitive and even cringey at times. The audiobook is read by Lin Manuel Miranda, which I did enjoy.

Lost internet at work tonight which gave me plenty of time to finish this. Seems like every millennial in the world has this on their shelf right now! The content was sad but her writing style is very readable. While the overarching theme is her mom I felt like this was more about eating disorders than anything; so if that is something that distresses you I'd advise to read with caution.

Trying to finish this bc I like the plot. But I have to say it's tough to get through with how fat-phobic the writing is. The main character wakes up in a different body & literally says "I resemble some grotesque caricature of the human body," then goes ON about it for 10 chapters. I don't think describing a body as fat is an insult (I'm fat! btw). But to harp on about how gross, pathetic & humiliating it must be for a fat person IS insulting.

💁🏻‍♀️Me: Sure, want to read the book first?

ShyBookOwl 😂😂😂 I had a very similar experience a couple years ago. My husband and I realized we weren't sure we'd ever actually seen Hellraiser but I wanted to read the book first. When I was done I had no words, and was like, ummm yeah... we can watch it I guess maybe if u still want 😅 Afterwards, he was like, WHY?! And I was like, at least you didn't read the book!! 8mo
NataliePatalie @ShyBookOwl I'm usually really into horror but all the sexual stuff in this book really turned me off! I guess if I'd done any research beforehand I would've figured this out sooner, buuuttt...🤷🏻‍♀️ 8mo

shanaqui Aw, I think the movie and book are so different it's hard to judge which one is “better“. There's so much more Welsh stuff in the book which got cut from the movie... which makes sense, but kinda sucks. 8mo

Just finished this one. Was seeing lots of hype for it but honestly wasn't super into it? Not much substance, main character wasn't interesting and the only juicy reveal wasn't until the end, but not interesting enough that I'd read another one. Felt very 2010 supernatural YA trilogy.

You Love Me: A You Novel | Caroline Kepnes

Panpan

Third book in the YOU series. I thought the first two books were exciting, but this one felt really lackluster. Maybe after two books & three TV seasons it just doesn't feel as fresh anymore. Mary Kay isn't very interesting and the "oh shit" moment doesn't happen til the very end; and when it does the conclusion just falls flat and feels unfinished. It would have made an interesting conflict in the middle of the book rather than an ending.

Blueberry I've never seen or read this series. 9mo
