Forgive me for all the posts today - last one, I promise. I spent my day watching the Colin Firth Pride & Prejudice, removing 7 rows from my project, and redoing those rows. I‘m now back to where I was this morning, with a new shade of green. I‘m much happier with this! #temperatureafghan

DGRachel @TricksyTails @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @saresmoore Thanks all! I‘m changing up the colors a bit from the original template I saw on Pinterest because the pistachio green looked gross and the persimmon is another blah color, so I‘m using limelight and mango instead. 😊 6y

DGRachel @Dolly Do you still have it? I‘d love to see it! I found the color grid on Pinterest, but then discovered I hated two of the colors in person, so I‘ve changed them and I may swap out the red, too. That‘s still to be determined. 😊 6y

Dolly Now you‘ve got me thinking...I haven‘t seen it for years and I haven‘t the faintest idea of what happened to it. It was the kind of thing I saw everyday so never really SAW it. It was orange, dk green, sage green, yellow, cream. 🤢I love the colors you have there, but there are more? 6y

I think I jinxed myself with Iron Gold. I haven‘t been able to read more than 30 minutes a day for the last 3 days. 😭 Instead, I‘ve been working on my temperature afghan. Here‘s the first 1/2 of January. I‘ve decided I hate the pistachio color, so I bought a different green and will spend the rest of my morning doing reverse crochet of 7 rows to remove the yucky green. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

DGRachel @cathysaid This is the first time I‘ve done anything more than a basic double or treble crochet stitched afghan. I‘m enjoying the pattern. Basic stitches still, but I love the added interest and texture. 6y

DGRachel @TrishB I feel like I have reader‘s block. It‘s awful. The book is so good, but I‘m in such knots worrying about what Pierce has in store, that I‘m literally nauseated and have to force myself to open the book. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 6y

I had never crocheted before but the library offered a class week & I thought it would be fun to learn. I really struggled with it at 1st but I am now starting to get the hang of it. I have done a little bit everyday since. It has become quiet the relaxing activity.

I am loving that it is a good way to turn off my brain for a bit after a long day at work. @RealLifeReading I just started it a week or so ago but am really loving it too. 6y

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Sounds good! My sister and I started out crocheting. Then moved to knitting. Now I weave too and she has a spinning wheel. It's all about the fibery goodness! 6y

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage For whatever craft you choose, my recommendation is to buy the best craft supplies you can afford because it's worth it in the long run 6y

MaleficentBookDragon @WarpedSweetness I had a tiara, long gloves, and a corsage. It was so much fun. I liked being a zombie more than "running" the race, which I did afterwards. I've done 3 zombie races and been a zombie twice. 7y

#uncannyoctober day 10: today I'd love to know all about your #nonreadingpursuits
A few months ago, I've started learning to crochet (thanks to a lot of YouTube videos) and it's a great accompaniment to reading, especially audiobooks!

Bostonmomx2 My nonreadingpursuit is making quilt blocks. I don‘t finish the tops out but send blocks to charity quilt drives. I‘ve done 3-5 tops worth for Harvey hurricane victims, working today on some blocks for the Vegas shooting families and I have a sad feeling I‘ll be working on some soon for the victims of the horrific fire in Napa/Sonoma. Too much devastation lately but it‘s nice at least a small something. 7y

My friend took me to the Endless Mountains Fiber Festival today. Why are all my hobbies expensive? But I do love them all. I bought an obnoxious sweater with alpacas on it, yarn, two crochet kits, stitch markers, a wild catnip mouse, and dryer balls. But, best of all, a cashmere goat licked my nose. She also got out of her pen and walked around with me for a little while. ❤️ 🐐 I really wanted to smuggle her home.
