pickI was in a reading slump and decided a quick reread of this one would be a great idea. YA dystopian novel about a competition to become the next queen. I love the female friendships, political discussions, and readability. So easy to dive into and hard to put down. This was just what I wanted and I‘m on to the next one during this busy work season.

pickUGH 😍😭 needed something like this to catapult me out of a bad book binge! So easy to fly through in a day or two & great, casual writing style. Hunger Games meets the Bachelor, especially at first, but it ends up becoming it‘s own fantastic story!! Loved and so ready to inhale ANYTHING by this author!

It also is for #Booked2022 about a royal. I listened to it in one day on April 1. I hated the narrator, and the story felt like Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. It was just ok for me, and I will not be reading more in the series.
Just got my special edition of ‘The Selection‘ by my queen Kiera Cass made by #beaconbookbox and I‘m so happy, they‘re so beautiful and I can‘t express how much I‘m in love with them. My old copies were literally falling apart and it‘s so nice to have these.
pickSuch a good book! I like the dystopian setting and honestly, I‘d read a whole history textbook about the backstory behind Illéa. I liked the characters and the plot, but I wish there was more talk about the food they ate. 5?

It‘s your typical fast-paced, cutesy, YA book that‘s been in my TBR for awhile. Not much plot depth. It ropes you in with poor girl given a chance to turn her life around; a unique element was adding the caste system. Good political & historical components without throwing narratives or opinions in your face. It‘s enough reality tv show mixed with real teenage life feel. Super quick read that made me want to pick up the next, I‘m invested.
This is an awesome book I‘m only halfway through but when I pick up this book I can‘t put it down. The plot so far is really great too I recommend reading it.
pickI really enjoyed this lighthearted YA romance. At first, it was a little slow for me as I was figuring out the timeline and the caste system. It does take place in the future when the US no longer exists after WW4.
I like America a lot. She is spunky and stubborn, but very caring.
Some parts were very predictable, but overall it was a page turner for me and I really enjoyed it. I have a book hangover now!

I could hardly put it down and before I knew it, it was over. I‘m currently in the 3rd book as I type this😅
It‘s the perfect amount of romance and cheesy comedy. Just like junk food, sometimes you need a book like this to feed your soul. And in my case, it‘s a rare indulgence since I tend to avoid romance novels altogether.

It's a good book for one time read. Aside from the caste system, which is quite different, everything is pretty predictable (For me atleast!). America's desisons are quite sloppy. And its obvious that Maxon is going to pick America at end..
so-soI didn‘t really like America, Aspen, or Maxon. I listened to these as audiobooks and the narrator performed her heart out. I chuckled when I wasn‘t rolling my eyes. It‘s kind of a teen version of The Bachelor with scary rebels attacking the castle. If you like love triangles, pretty girls who think they‘re plain, can‘t make up their mind, and act rashly but are universally loved by all, then it‘s for you.
so-so⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a quick & easy read. It kept my attention & it didn‘t feel like it dragged which i liked. I just feel like i have read it before. The plot/story is unoriginal in my opinion. Its a cross of the hunger games/bachelor. I envisioned the world of hunger games & chris harrison being the reporter the whole time . It left no room for my imagination to take off. It‘s like junk food, i can‘t stop reading it. Even if it‘s not that great.
