A New Earth
A New Earth: Create a Better Life | Eckhart Tolle
Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth will be a cornerstone for personal spirituality and self-improvement for years to come, leading readers to a new levels of consciousness and inner peace. Taking off from the introspective work The Power of Now, which is a number one bestseller and has sold millions of copies worldwide, Tolle provides the spiritual framework for people to move beyond themselves in order to make this world a better, more spiritually evolved place to live. Shattering modern ideas of ego and entitlement, self and society, Tolle lifts the veil of fear that has hung over humanity during this new millennium, and shines an illuminating light that leads to happiness and health that every reader can follow.

Eckhart is quickly becoming such a mentor as I start my journey of awakening. He hits in so many things that resonate within me. The things that don‘t eventually do every time I read it a different day. This is such a great book to keep coming back to.

This was the second time that I read this book. The new Podcast with Oprah and Eckhart Tolle was the impetus. Thought provoking philosophy on living a life filled with peace and awareness. A classic. #booked2019 #relatedtoapodcast

I can still remember how excited I was to log on to the Web in 2008 to participate in the global Book Club for A New Earth. No one expected the legions of readers who would join me, and the system crashed! Technology has come a long way since that early experiment, and Oprah is returning to this book as a Podcast on the Supersoul App starting on Monday for 10 weeks- a chapter each week. This time my husband has already reread Chapter 1! My turn!😉

C.Perone I remember that! Lol 4mo
Karisa Oh, I was part of that too! Great read, very centering. 4mo
DivineDiana @C.Perone @Karisa I was so excited at the addition of technology to reading a book! And look what we have now- Litsy! 👏🏻🎉📚 3mo

Disclaimer - listened to the audiobook. For all the rave reviews his book got, I was a bit disappointed. I‘ve read a few other books on similar subject and didn‘t really garner much new from this book. The audio was hard to follow and the text repeats itself a lot, or changes subject fairly quick, seemingly without finishing the previous topic. Maybe I just need to read the text slowly to “get it”.

This is yesterday‘s challenge for #tarottakeover -The Sun card. Vitality, Enlightenment, Invigoration. This book represents The #suncard to me very well. When I think of awakening, I think of the sun waking up. Plus, the cover is orange and yellow!

WhiskeyMistress I have that deck! It‘s lovely!! ❤️❤️ 8mo
KristinaRay @WhiskeyMistress It‘s my newest deck. I just started playing with it and I already love it. 8mo
Nevermore88 I sleep with my deck. Lol. It hangs on my headboard 8mo

KristinaRay @Nevermore88 The first few years of practicing tarot I slept with my cards too. I pretty much kept them with me at all times. 8mo
Nevermore88 @KristinaRay how long have you been reading tarot ? 8mo
KristinaRay @Nevermore88 🤔I started giving readings in 2010. My tarot “goals” have changed over the last couple years, so I mainly read for myself now. (edited) 8mo

“In today‘s rush we all think too much, want too much, seek too much, and forget the joy of just Being”. #EckhartTolle #lettinggo #peace #forgiveness #love I was in Utah last month for a vacation, sabbatical, adventure and relaxation. I wasn‘t expecting anything since I am going through something in life and thought I was lost but then, I found myself in the mountains of Utah. Utah will hold a special place in my ❤️ as long as I live.

#riotgrams Day 2 #orange covers. This #rainbowshelfie comes in handy for themes like this. I thought I would get tired of color-coded books pretty quick but instead this has really grown on me. Much easier way to know if I'll have room on my shelf when buying a book: I just look at the color! 📚

... and here's the big reveal!

I didn't anticipate a non-fiction book, but I'd say this $2.00 adventure was definitely worthwhile. ? I'm pleased to see that it's well rated online.

Anyone read this book? Do you think this one matched its "clue"?

#BlindDate

AmyG I loved The Power of Now when I read that. 2y
Tamra Wow, agreed not what I was expecting. But, how fun for only $2 and obviously someone liked it enough to send it on your blind date! 2y
BookishJess I really enjoyed it when I read it. Very thought-provoking. 2y

CouronneDhiver Oh good! I hope I really enjoy it too. @AmyG @BookishJess @dariazeoli I chose this one from a basket containing another 5 or 6 blind date packages ...for the price, the fun surprise is worth it! Maybe I'll go back for more @Tamra @ReadingEnvy (edited) 2y

My #ORANGEYOUGLAD pick is A New Earth. I enjoyed reading it as well as those webcasts that Oprah did with Tolle years ago!

lynneamch Oh yes. Me too. I often recall his points about leaving behind one's ego and connecting with the other's true humanity. He said it so much better. An excellent read for this time and place when it's so hatd to umderstand those with whom we disagree. 2y

I've shared this book with more people than any other--basically if you receive a copy from me it's because I love you and want you to be happy. It's a fantastic, eye-opening (possibly life changing) tool that helps you to distance yourself from everyday anger and stress. Highly recommended.

Also, it matches my Raven Boys pencil case. 😊

I've had this one on my TBR for a while. Now I need to make it my next read! While I do believe that we have free will & the choice of weather or not to give in to temptation, the constant 24x7 consumption culture makes it difficult to resist each shiny new thing that promises to change our world.
