Say hi to the northern Australian ghost bat. This adorable, leaf-nosed, carnivorous bat is identifiable by its pale skin and light fur, and was first identified in 1880.
4 ⭐ This book is about a real event, the oil spill in Santa Barbara in the 1970s. However, the characters are just that, characters that help move the story along. The senator is real, but the little girl at the heart of the story is not. Either way this book does a great job of showing why Earth Day was created and why it is still needed.
The Lorax by Dr. Seuss is a picture book that was published in 1971. The main message of The Lorax is that everyone has a responsibility to protect the ecosystem. Dr. Seuss presents the Once-ler, a rash Thneed businessman whose unbridled desire causes the nearby surroundings to be destroyed. It illustrates the distinction between a dead and a living planet. Up until the trees are gone and everything is gloomy, they utilize vibrant colors.
#BookBinge Day 30: It will be a #Disaster if we do not do anything to save our planet. While others may argue that the overall message seems simplistic and too ideal, I think ultimately the goal is to empower people to come together to make a change. Ice cream and hugs are nice.
I especially ❤️ the way this book includes helpful ways to improve climate change. We need to give our kids hope. #underthedustcover Happy belated 🌎 day!
This book shows how small things can damage our earth. One small, insignificant molecule of carbon dioxide, when put together, does this. The same goes for fixing the planet. One person may seem small, yet when many get together they make a big impact. I love the art style being simple yet powerful. Showing polar bears on a slab of melting ice, flood kicking out families, coral reef overheating… but also how one person can start it all #children
