Well hello, new friends 😍🤗. #BOTM
Yassss really excited about all of these! What did you choose this month? #botm
@MicheleinPhilly wants to see stacks of books! Well here‘s what I‘m currently choosing from in deciding what to read next. Which one should I pick?? Thanks for the chance to enter this giveaway 😊. #SHOWME
Has anyone read Armistead Maupin‘s Tales of the City series? These are some of my favorite book spines in my collection 😍. #bookspines
Thoughts on calling in sick tomorrow so I can stay home and listen to Retta read to me all day? You guys, THIS BOOK! Loved her in Parks and Rec, love her in Good Girls, and am confident she would have killed it in Dreamgirls. Retta is the real deal. Highly recommend the audio for the full hilarity of her storytelling. If I haven‘t sold you already, there‘s a whole bit about coffee and pooping. #nailedit Can we get a girl her sitcom now????
Rainy day reading 🤓☕️
🚨🚨 BOOK SWAP 🚨🚨
Anyone interested in trading another #botm pick for this copy of Marlena? Ideally looking for Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or Goodbye Vitamin, but open to other possibilities. #bookswap #bookmail #evelynhugo #goodbyevitamin
🚨 BOOK SWAP! 🚨 Looking to swap a couple of #botm picks. Ideally looking for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, As Bright as Heaven, or Goodbye Vitamin. Let me know in the comments which book you want and what you have to trade 😊
🚨 BOOK SWAP! 🚨 Is anyone interested in a book swap for any of the above books? I‘m interested mostly in contemporary and historical fiction (but you can take a look at my TBR page). Let me know in the comments what you‘d like and what you have to trade! #bookswap #bookmail
What a heartbreakingly beautiful novel!!! This debut from Crystal Hana Kim is told by five different narrators from 1951-1967 amid the dawn of modern day Korea. I‘m a sucker for multiple perspectives when it‘s done well, and these characters are so richly drawn with such entirely distinct voices. I️ felt so invested in their stories that I‘m sad to leave them! I️t‘s five stars from me and I‘ll definitely be following this author in the future.
My August reads! My pick-of-the-month has to be The Great Alone, though A Place for Us was not far behind. Was also pleasantly surprised by The Air You Breathe, which I️ only heard of thanks to #botm 🤓.
Talk about a gorgeous cover 😍. Really intrigued by this month‘s pick and looking forward to hitting a couple of beauties from my backlist! #botm
My pick of the month from everything I read in July! I read this pretty soon after A Little Life so I️ definitely see the comparisons that folks have been mentioning. While I️ didn‘t think this was quite as good, I️ did find myself emotionally invested in the characters in a similar way and I️‘m always a sucker for multiple timelines/points of view. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
“At some point almost everyone makes a choice. Some of us don‘t even notice i️t happening, most don‘t get to plan it in advance, but there‘s always a moment when we take one path instead of another that has consequences for the rest of our lives. It determines the people we will become, in other people‘s eyes as well as our own.”
“Sons want their fathers‘ attention until the precise moment when fathers‘ want their sons‘. From then on we‘re all doomed to wish that we‘d fallen asleep beside them more often, while their head could still fit on our chest. That we‘d spent more time sitting on the floor while they were playing. Hugged them while they still let us.”
What a stunning novel. I️ had been reluctant to start this one because I️ wasn‘t a huge fan of A Man Called Ove, but I️ finally gave in to the hype and am SO glad I️ did. Gorgeously written, beautifully affecting story. I️ can‘t wait to read the next one.
Does anyone else keep their favorite recent reads out for awhile so they stay fresh in your memory? My current coffee table situation... 🤓 Highly recommend all of these! 📚 #thefemalepersuasion #commonwealth #mrsfletcher #littlefireseverywhere #booknerd
About 100 pages into this #BOTM pick and I‘m intrigued by the story, but really struggling with the writing. Seems like this would be better categorized as YA rather than literary fiction 🤔. #thebookofessie #bookofthemonth
