Audio books are so fast to get through which is exactly what I need at this moment of my life! I felt like I needed to 'read' this book. Losing someone is a theme I've been struggling with for awhile. It was nice to listen to other people's thougths about this.
Otherwise the book wasn't really for me so I'm a bit conflicted when rating this. But I'm really happy I read it! 😁
A really good story of how one woman copes with the death of her husband through letters he wrote before his passing. There‘s also support from family and friends who help Holly as she navigates through life seeking work, holiday fun and Christmas celebrations, all without her childhood sweetheart. This book will be a particular hit with fans of Jojo Moyes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of my favourite books so I had to get this on audiobook today.
I definitely recommend this @Ms_T @Cathythoughts @Andrew65 also with the current sale the sequel is up for grabs at £7.53 so both are currently a bargain. Enjoy. 📚📖
So much #LitsyLove ... I joined the PenPal group because I wanted to connect with Littens. It is not easy to surprise me but I have been surprised & blessed each day when the mail arrives. Thank you!
Goodwill finds today!! I finally found the tagged book in hardcover 💗💗💗
This is such a touching story!
I think the idea of leaving a letter for each month a year after you die is very sweet in this context. It helped guide Holly through the first year after losing Gerry and got her to learn how to carry on living despite the heartache.
Holly took a sip of her tea. Oh, the wonders of the magical tea, the answer to all of life‘s little problems. You have a gossip and you make a cup of tea, you get fired from your job and you have a cup of tea, your husband tells you he has a brain tumour and you have a cup of tea …
In anticipation to the release of the sequel, Postscript, I decided to reread the original. I remembered that it differed significantly from the movie so I wanted to get the book back in my head.
I believe I ruined nothing though by playing the movie soundtrack in the background.
I read this book when it first came out - so touching and heartbreaking! Definitely need a box of tissues as Holly navigates life, using suggestions in letters left by her recently deceased husband. #WishYouWereHere vibes all over the place on this. #MarchIntoThe70s
The way her husband help her go through his dead with a year letters touched me to the core.
"With the help of a series of letters her husband left her before he died and a little nudging from an eccentric assortment of family and friends, Holly learns to laugh, overcome her fears, and discover a world she never knew existed."

I purposely avoid books and movies that I know will end up with me in a puddle of tears bc I‘m way too emotional. Plus I feel like there is enough heartbreak and sadness in real life- so I really had to think hard for this one.
Man, this book. Man, this movie. Sigh.... all the tears. My heart hurts just thinking about it!

This definitely sounds like a hokier read from what I usually go for but I‘m glad I gave it a chance because I absolutely loved it.
Gerry and Holly are a young couple that have the same ebbs and flows that are typical in marriage. Then Gerry is diagnosed with a brain tumor and dies shortly after. Only after his death does Holly discover he has left her twelve letters, one for each month of the first year he is gone. 😭😭 #heylove #septemberdanes
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I just came home to this wonderful box!!! You are just the sweetest ever!!! These past 4 weeks of nursing school have been INSANE! When they said it would be hard I didn‘t realize how hard this was really going to be so this has made my day and made me smile! I appreciate you to the moon and back! Your friendship means the world to me! I love you sweet friend and I‘m sorry I haven‘t gotten to catch up with you lately! ❤️😘
This movie is my go-to tear-jerker movie. I cry EVERYTIME I watch it, guaranteed.
And now I've put the book on hold at my local library. Admittedly, it won't be QUITE the same without Gerard Butler's sexy Irish brogue, but I'm still bracing myself for the cry-fest. 😭
I‘ve been in a reading slump the last while, so I decided to go for something fluffy to help me overcome it. I flew through this book and actually enjoyed it and found myself getting a little emotional at times! Maybe it wasn‘t as fluffy as I thought 😂 the overall story is somewhat cheesy, but I really enjoyed the interactions between Holly‘s family throughout, very entertaining 😁
