Watching episode 4 of the new spin off of The Boys. I was a little worried this would just be like a violent WB story, but this totally lives up to the original!

I‘m actually still considering how I feel. I love the show, and I knew the comics were going to be darker. Just keep in mind the trigger warnings if you want to pick these up!
So, I watched the first season on Prime a few months ago and thought it was brilliant. This has a lot of similar plot points, but so many of the characters and there relationships are different. I liked the show better, but this was still pretty good. Very gracious sex and violence.
Second book down for the day. This was exactly as I expected after watching the show. I enjoyed it and I‘m ok with the changes made to the series.
My small haul from yesterday. Thor The Goddess of Thunder was on clearance at Newbury Comics and they had volume one of The Boys (seriously though it‘s a great show and I need season 2 now). The metal bookmarks I got at Terrificon yesterday. Couldn‘t resist Loki or the Harry Potter.
Well this is definitely what I was warned about: it‘s violent, vulgar and crass. So it gets a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating because it‘s disgusting, but it‘s also intriguing. Kind of an anti-superhero story, The Boys are a group of individuals that work with the CIA to reign in superheroes and make them accountable. Their tactics? Possibly overkill.
I‘m a few episodes into both of these tv series, both comic book adaptations and I‘m really enjoying them, though they‘re very different.
Karl Urban is brilliant as Butcher in The Boys, don‘t watch if you‘re easily offended by bad language though!
The scene where the Hargreeves siblings dance to “I Think We‘re Alone Now” was so good in Umbrella Academy, made me want to get up and dance myself!
It's ouuuuuut. 🤸♂️
Anyone watching this on Amazon?
I binged the first 4 episodes today and I'm enjoying it well enough.
I originally read the comics way back when they were first released and really enjoyed how dark and disturbing they were. I'm pleased to say the show is pulling that feel of the books off well.
If your looking for an R rated version of the Avengers if they were all assholes...this show/comic delivers. 🤘
Disclaimer: I love messed up books. This was a messed up book. I was excited when Amazon announced they were doing The Boys as a show and after reading the first volume I am PUMPED and absolutely can not wait to see Karl Urban as Butcher!
I keep seeing ads on Facebook for Humble Bundles and couldn't pass this one up. £12 for a load of comics including the first 12 volumes of The Boys? Can't say no to that. #bargain
Loved this one! A great pick for fans of gore and those who know Ennis as a writer who hates superheroes 😂
1. The tagged book, Baby Teeth, and Sex Criminals vol. 4
2. Funko pops, bookmarks, book sleeves
3. May 18
4. Horror and thriller

Well this was a dark, bloody, fun ride. Who polices the world's superheroes? These guys. A CIA sanctioned team of thugs and a wee Scotsman who looks (intentionally) like Simon Pegg. Yep, you find that supers can be pretty depraved, but are there darker reasons for The Boy's actions? Garth Ennis at his bloody best. #comicthon @xicanti
