A powerful RF about the road of being human. We learn, make mistakes, and grow from them. We find joy in friendships and may get hurt by them sometimes. But, being human allows us to make choices. We can move forward, choose to be thoughtful, kind, compassionate, and fair! Such a great book about morals and how we should respond to setbacks! Would be great for a SR or RA, as it is a book that needs to be heard by all and should invite discussion.

DMoux https://www.counselorkeri.com/2018/10/13/i-am-human-activity/ This link will bring you to a lesson plan that involves students sharing about their experiences and learning from their peers! UDL 9.2 facilitates personal coping skills and strategies when hardships come. ESOL 22 can be used by giving enough wait time to respond to life experience questions. #ucflae3414su19 3mo
Kendylleonard I‘ve never heard of this book before, but what a great book to have in your classroom! This would be great to use as a RA if you are having some issues within your classroom. The activity is also great! I would love to have this book in my classroom and complete this activity with my students every year. 3mo
Kcompton2912 I have never heard of this book but am instantly in love. Empathy is so important to teach to students right now with our world. Having this be a RA can be great to have group discussions about empathy. The resource you provided will definitely bring that further. 3mo
DrSpalding There are a series of books like this and now that you are familiar with the author and his exceptional work… I hope you will perform an author study so that you can share many of his titles. Read aloud is perfect for this book and I could see it as a touching storytelling as well. 3mo

Great children‘s book about siblings of autistic children. They are mostly 1 page articles, however there‘s pictures of the page opposite the stories.

#SpringIntoReading Day 19: There are a total of 28 poems in this amazing collection, all perfectly matched with Hines‘ painstakingly-meticulous quilts that are lovingly handcrafted. In each full-spread page of the quilt/artwork, the reader is immersed in patches of colours, circles of hope, and whispers of connectedness, hope, deliverance, and what it is like to #forgive. I showed support for my previous students who have been diagnosed with autism, the parents I know who have children with autism, and those living with autism by reading “Understanding Sam” to Kindergarten this afternoon.

Sam is diagnosed with autism after his parents take him to a doctor following his abrupt independent departure to a fair late at night.

Remember: the person comes first.

Sam is a child with autism.

It does not define him.

CBee Thank you, from the parent of a child with autism. ♥️ 7mo

Today is the ninth anniversary of my big brother Jeff‘s beautiful soul leaving this world. I just wanted to share him with you guys. This wasn‘t too terribly long before he was diagnosed. Cancer just sucks.

MommyOfTwo So sorry. Cancer does suck, I‘ve known to many people who have died of cancer and way to early in their lives. 8mo

Bookwomble Lost my sister two years ago and my mum two days ago - yes, cancer definitely sucks! 8mo
NovelGirl82 @Bookwomble I‘m so sorry. Jeff and I lost our dad 3 weeks before Jeff passed from the same cancer that Jeff had (it‘s genetic), and my step-dad (who raised me) passed in 2005. It‘s terribly difficult. If you ever need to talk, I‘m around. Sending you any strength that you may need. 8mo
Bookwomble @NovelGirl82 Thank you, Tiffany. Such a lot of losses for you in such a short time ❤ I'm keeping busy with arrangements, so not properly feeling it yet. 8mo

Hanging out with my fat Lola in my library this morning before the rest of the house wakes up. The perfect way to begin a Saturday. Hope you all have a great day! #CatsofLitsy

Lcsmcat I love your library steps! They‘re almost as beautiful as the kitty on them! 😻 1y
goodbyefrancie @Lcsmcat Thanks! My husband found them at an antique shop. I love them! Fat Lola is pretty awesome, too. She's 16 years old! 1y
QuietlyLaura Your Lola is the same age as my cat Scratchy! ❤️ 1y

goodbyefrancie @QuietlyLaura hooray for old kitties! We lost our other cat in July of last year, and she was also 16. I worry about Lola all the time. 1y
QuietlyLaura I worry about Scratchy, too. I treasure every day I get to spend with her even though she‘s an ornery kitty. ❤️ 1y
