#thoughtfulThursday on a Friday

Don‘t usually read non fiction, but the tagged book read like fiction.

🛡 👸🏼 ⚔️ 🏴‍☠️ 🏝

Historical romance is my favorite, because it seems more grand, dramatic, and daring. People doing extraordinary things in pursuit of love.

Definitely cover art.

Tagged - It was a cute cozy mystery. Not sure why I don't read more of them.

👩 🚫💼 🚫👨🍷🍸🍷🍸 💡 👙✈🏖 🤴 💏 💞

Lighthearted, fun, & sometimes sexy, a good escape on minimal brain power.

🦇 I don‘t read much horror/suspense but absolutely loved this book!!
♥️ 🐉😘🪄🧛💋💋
🌺 it keeps me dreaming and my mind off of real world troubles.
🪐 cover art gets me every time!!
@MoonWitch94 thank you so much for the tag!! #thoughtfulthursday

KathyWheeler I love Joe Hill and this is my favorite of his books. 5d
Seekingtardis @KathyWheeler are his other books creepy like this or are they just straight suspense? 5d
KathyWheeler @Seekingtardis he‘s generally got something creepy going on. Just in case you aren‘t aware, he‘s Stephen King‘s son, and I find they both have about the same amount of creepiness in their work. Heart-Shaped Box is one many people like — the main character buys a ghost on the internet. Horns and Fireman are also good. Fireman is Hill‘s entry into the post-apocalyptic genre. 5d
Seekingtardis @KathyWheeler I did know he was his son, but that‘s all I knew lol. Thanks for adding to my tbr 😂😂 4d
KathyWheeler @Seekingtardis You‘re welcome! 😄. I know it‘s generally know now that he‘s King‘s son, but I have met people even recently who didn‘t know, so I thought I‘d mention it just in case. 4d

Favorite genre-🤩❤️‍🔥💫💋🖤🧚🏼🧜🏼‍♀️🦋🌹🫖🌠✨️🔮
Fantasy is my favorite because it let's me be somewhere magical, a place that is open to the impossible!
For an enticing read its usually the cover art that does it for me.

1. I don‘t read much horror.
2. 👮🕵️‍♂️🌂💼🩸🗡🗝🖊🚨⚰️🧐
3. I like mysteries because, while there are usually recognizable characters and tropes, the story can still go in many different directions and take place nearly anywhere.
4. If it‘s a true impulse read, interesting cover art would be more intriguing.

1. Loved tagged book, am picky about graphic novels. (Although Sandman by Gaiman is also perfection)
2.🐉👽🧝‍♀️🧞‍♂️🧜🧚‍♀️🪐
3. I‘ve always loved Fantasy and Sci fi - escape from reality, imagination, world building- all of it.

Anyone else want to play?

KathyWheeler Sandman was my first graphic novel. I branched out from there and now love Joe Hill‘s Locke & Key and the Saga books. I‘m sure there‘s more but those 3 are my favorite. 5d
Chrissyreadit @KathyWheeler I read the first couple Saga‘s but after hearing that there is a horrible plot twist event I can‘t bear to read more- I need an HEA 🤣 5d
KathyWheeler @Chrissyreadit I understand. If I‘d known about that plot twist, I might never have read Saga at all. I was shocked and upset. 5d

#thoughtfulthursday Thanks for the tag! @CindyMyLifeIsLit & @kspenmoll

CindyMyLifeIsLit I just recently read Dracula and absolutely loved it!! So many classic Gothic stories are examples of the difference in what they considered scary versus what we consider scary, but Dracula crosses that bridge to modernity very well! 5d
Texreader @CindyMyLifeIsLit It really does. It feels like it could have been written in the last few decades not the 1800s. 5d

📖 This is a romance, DEFINITELY not a genre I usually read. However, this one was chock-full of writing and reading references and snarky dialogue, so I enjoyed it.
📖 👻👹🤡🧛🏻🧟‍♂️
📖 I love the suspense. I love exploring the ideas of creatures and worlds outside our normal one.
📖 I believe that cover art catches my eye and entices me more than a title, no matter how clever.
