Move. #catssittingonbooks #whydotheydothis #redclocks by #lenizumas #littlebrownandcompany is a feminist page turner with a magical sense of place. Handmaid‘s Tale meets Moby Dick? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pickpick

Red Clocks was, for me, thought provoking and SO compelling! It‘s timely and relevant and moving and does some brilliant things with the premise. Deep, thoughtful, and scary assessment of where we could be. I found it to be reminiscent of #thehandmaidstale in its projection of what could be...with only a few missteps.

Mehso-so

This book took me a while to get into because of the structure. I had to read about a third of it before I felt like I knew what was really going on. However, I did like that this book doesn‘t tie up all the loose ends in a pretty bow - life is messy. #redclocks #bookofthemonth #botm

We are so thrilled that Julia Fine‘s deliciously dark and magical debut WHAT SHOULD BE WILD was selected by #BarnesandNoble as a Summer 2018 #BNDiscover pick! Called a “gothic stunner for the 21st century—provocative, luxuriant, unsettling” by #RedClocks author #LeniZumas, this is a debut not to be missed. You can pre-order at B&N here: bit.ly/JuliaFineBNDiscover

Ajessgirl Emma in the Night was SO good! Be sure to start on a weekend; otherwise you‘ll be a zombie at work. 2y
Jess7 Ok, great. I‘ve got you on the list @LazyDays 2y
The_Heeler_Booklife Emma in the Night is really good. I have some books in my TBR that are definite, but my TBR always changes. 2y
Bookishthoughts Thank you! 2y
TheLibrarian I look forward to seeing how you liked Red Clocks. It was my 2nd least favorite this year. 2y
Jess7 Ohhhh no! I‘m not a big dystopian fan- so that‘s not good news. I liked added it to a previous #botm box because of the #feminist message undertones and the comparisons to #TheHandmaidsTale.... what did you not like about it @TheLibrarian 2y
somebooksaround Bonfire has been on my TBR for a while! How do the Buddy Reads work? :) 2y
Jess7 @josteele - various #buddyreads are run differently. The #LitsyBuddyRead is hosted by @MinDea and myself ( @Jess7 ) from the @LitsyBuddyRead page. We have posted a suggested reading schedule. You use the hashtag whenever you post about reading the selected book (Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore) and then you join the open discussions we host once a week for the week‘s reading on the @LitsyBuddyRead page. We host a final discussion on 3/25 2y
Jess7 I keep a running list of which Littens are participating each month so we can tag them when we post the discussions to @LitsyBuddyRead - so if you want to join - let me know so I can add you to the list and start reading the first week‘s reading by 3/4. 🤗🤗 @josteele 2y
somebooksaround Wow that‘s a fantastic idea! This sounds awesome, I‘d love to join in! 2y
Jess7 Ok great! I‘ll add you to the list! @josteele 2y
TheLibrarian @Jess7 Pretty much everything 😂 It‘s a good idea but not executed well. 2y
TheResistance Red Clocks is on my tbr list too! 2y

OriginalCyn620 I‘m reading this now too! 2y
BookAlongBlog @OriginalCyn620 Awesome! How are you liking it? 2y
OriginalCyn620 @Book.Along The first few chapters were not so great and the writing style was a bit hard to get used to. I‘m far enough along now that the particular struggles of each character is coming about, and how the laws that have been passed are affecting them. I have a feeling I will tell bunches of people to read this book! 2y
BookAlongBlog @OriginalCyn620 I finished it and enjoyed it. Hope you do too. Let me know what you thought. 😊 2y
