Such a charming, sweet book. I thought it was mostly going to be a love story but I was more delighted with the endearing friendship among the islanders. I should have read it earlier. And now I can finally watch the movie!

#PopSugar2020 A book about a book club

My second TJR read and wow, this was a phenomenal book! It‘s an honest portrayal of what goes on in a long-term relationship — realistic like no other romance book I‘ve read, and still so inspiring.

“All that matters is that you open your heart, give everything you have, and keep trying.” Highly recommended.

I was not prepared to be so affected by this book! My first Atwood and I must say I am impressed. It‘s disturbing and sad and totally plausible. It‘s the female version of 1984, and being a woman, this hits closer to home.

Most of my December reads will be trying to finish up 3 challenges: #ReadingEurope, #USstates, and #CenturyReads. I have completed #Booked2020, #PopSugar2020, #ReadHarder2020, #mandmchallenge, #ReadwithMrBook, and #jennyis30. I've done well and I am alright with moving the rest to 21. I have to admit I only read this for a reading challenge but I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed Mattie Ross‘ bold, blunt, no-frills attitude. She‘s definitely one of the more memorable protagonists I‘ve read.

Murderbot is my kind of hero - snarky, awkward and unapologetic. I loved this novella and the succeeding installments! Although I have yet to get my hands on the latest one...

A good debut! The light tone and quick read is deceptive; this book packs quite a punch. I thought the narrator was spot on too.
