Another #90sthrowback from me. This is a very quiet literary novel that develops into romance. Too slow for some but I loved the setting.
Helen is an indie bookshop owner, 42, divorced, smart but maybe a little bitter. One day she finds a unique love letter and feels that #webelongtogether. She tries to figure out who the letter is from and embarks on a new love affair that will change and challenge her.

Centique Apparently there was a movie (which I haven‘t seen) but I think it‘s the writing that makes this book enjoyable, not the plot, so I‘m not sure that would transfer to film well. 6y

Tess of the D Urbervilles | Thomas Hardy

Certainly not the most romantic of love stories, this was still the book that popped into my mind for today‘s prompt. Something about the love affair between Angel Clare and Tess really touched me when I read this book in college. Such a tragic story, and you just want them to overcome their own shortcomings to be together. 💔 #webelongtogether #heatofjuly
