The POV in this changes so often, sometimes from one sentence to the next, that it's distracting from the story.

Thanks @Eggs for the #Two4Tuesday tag! 🤗

1️⃣ I honestly don‘t want a roommate but I guess I‘ll say Fitzwilliam Darcy in Pride and Prejudice so I could enjoy the grounds & library of Pemberley. 1️⃣

2️⃣ The boarding house in this book sounded absolutely charming & the group of roommates were fun too.

TheBookHippie #2 for sure!!! 3w

After reading 2 books that shattered me back-to-back, I knew I needed a frothy and fun palate cleanser. Abbi Waxman always fits that bill. And bonus: Nina Hill appears in this one too!

Yet another example of a book from this list that could have been great. I loved the gritty, Western tone; it felt original. Also, focusing on two women recently released from prison was a great premise.

Sadly, though, another book falls short due to poor execution in the end. The book starts strong, then the storyline tries to be too complex and ultimately collapses on itself.

I would read this author again, though.

Ruthiella I‘ve long meant to read her books, but I think I will start with the one that was chosen for Dennis Lahane‘s imprint back in the day. 4mo

squirrelbrain That‘s the second so-so review I‘ve seen for this - plus it‘s not out for a few months yet over here. 4mo
Hooked_on_books Yeah, I felt the same way. Great premise, lots of potential, but too bad it didn‘t deliver. 4mo
Chelsea.Poole I agree! Such promise but didn‘t live up to the potential. 4mo
Megabooks I listened to a bit of the audio and wasn‘t sold. I think I‘ll skip. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 4mo

Great premise—a woman is suddenly released early from prison during the lockdown period of the pandemic. But when she gets on a bus to try to get home, the wheels start to come off. So many opportunities to reflect on incarceration and support for released prisoners, but I found this lacking. #tob24 longlist

Yesterday was our first snow. The perfect kind with big, pretty flakes and then gone within hours so no shoveling required. And I got the chance to start the tagged book, which I'm enjoying immensely.

Book 4 and last in series. One pretty disturbing aspect to the crime at the center of the mystery. Good series. Liked it better than this author's standalones.
