I start every year by making this my first read for the year. Normally I finish it in a couple of hours, but this year is different. I‘ve not read a book in weeks, including audiobooks, so it‘s an accomplishment to complete this little jewel of a book.

Grief is hard; we all know that. I‘m adjusting to suddenly having so much time on my hands. I had limited downtime, especially with the extensive caregiving needs the last 2 weeks of December. ⬇️⬇️

Librarybelle ⬆️⬆️⬆️ I‘m exhausted, drained, hollow, and lost. And yet, time marches on. Of my three remaining boys, Xander is depressed, and so I‘m talking with him and playing with him and making sure he knows he is loved. We‘ll get through this, one day at a time. Thank you, everyone, to your kindness, love, and support. I was so touched by the outpouring of sentiment from everyone. I wish I could repay each and everyone of you with something. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 23h
Librarybelle ⬆️⬆️⬆️ It helps to know I‘m not alone. Thank you. Of course, I had to share a cat photo! #SebastianKitty had no clue he acted as a book prop. #CatsOfLitsy . And, for those doing the #192030 challenge, this is an excellent book for #1970 . It‘s a beautiful look at friendship. 23h
Librarybelle I know I‘m also behind with discussion questions for groups. I will get to them; thank you for your patience! 23h

Here is my first #bookspinbingo board for 2026! I have a busy month so my TBR is set up for lots of mood reading.
#bookspin pick: The Haunting of Payne‘s Hollow by Kelly Armstrong (already done!)
#doublespin pick: The Devils by Joe Abercrombie - I‘ve had this on 3 months of TBR‘s so let‘s see if I finally get to it…

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Looks fantastic!! 2d

A delightful classic epistolary novel about an orphan with a mysterious benefactor who pays for her to go to college. It feels so much like the Anne of Green Gables series and Emma M. Lion. It‘s a lovely treat. I do wish her nickname for him was something else, the constant “daddy” mentions feel creepy. 🤣 The main character‘s determination and moral fiber, not to mention her sense of humor, is so much fun!

repost for @OriginalCyn620

Welcome to 2026, fellow Littens! I love the #ispybingo challenge run by @TheAromaofBooks so I couldn‘t help but make a few of my own when she so awesomely offered. 😂

This board celebrates the books we read - some items are about the outside of the books, but most will be found within. Please tag me if you participate because I‘d love to see everyone‘s progress. Happy reading!

I absolutely enjoyed this book mixing Jane Austen‘s letters with illustrations of the houses and places she visited, the dress code, social code and introductions

I really got a sense of the world Jane Austen lived in

BookishMarginalia It also looks like a beautiful object 5d

I absolutely love this. Now we also know the extent of Mr. Knightley‘s sacrifice

Another thing I enjoy is how we get prospects of the places/ houses where Jane Austen is staying, like this one of Winchester

I would have loved to visit this bookstore; Messrs. Lackington, Allen & Co., at the Temple of Muses, Finsbury Square

One of the things I love about this collection of Austen‘s letters is that excerpts from her novels are included together with drawings of the area.

ferskner What a gorgeous edition! 5d
