Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Brighton looks wonderful! I need to just find a job in the UK for a year so I can visit all the places. Yesterday was a long day as we went to a Pride celebration right by our apartment to support our friends and a member of the town staff that assisted with planning. Today is a bit more lazy with some light cleaning & laundry going. Now I'm doing a few Litsy activities since my guy went into work for a couple hours. 3y

TheSpineView Hot and humid weather here. I rode in the morning before it got too hot. Then spent the rest of the afternoon in the air conditioning. Back to work tomorrow. 3y

Crazeedi Brighton! I read a series set there... anyway sorry I've been absent. Got home from vacation Saturday and have been unpacking and washing ever since. I hope all is well with you this week Andrew. We are in a hot humid spell now after just having cold and rain a few days ago. Weather cant decide what time of year it is! 3y

TheSpineView @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks SC! Unfortunately it is true. Friends in the industry say that once the pipeline is up and running it will take a minimum of 4 days for gas to reach this area. They are estimating gas to start arriving on Wednesday next week then a few days to get it to the pump 3y

TheSpineView Wednesday is a best case scenario. They said for every day past this Friday that it takes to get gas flowing again add a day to the Wednesday estimate. You are a lot closer to the source so hopefully you can knock a few days off the estimate 3y

TheSpineView Frustrating day as the internet kept going down at work. Problem in the area and we just had to wait for it to get fixed. Oh well... tomorrow is another day.🤪 3y

Lynnsoprano Busy, weird day, things kept going wrong but then working out. Frustrating, but still got a fair amount accomplished, although there was one big mess to clean up. Still doing a lot of online shopping, a parcel came with a leaking bottle. Company good about giving a refund, but I had to clean the rug inside the door. Not a good sign when the postman wraps your package in plastic 😄 3y

Susanita I spent a good part of the day metaphorically herding cats, but there were some nice diversions tucked in here and there. 3y

TheSpineView A nice sunny day but windy which made it chilly. After weeks of mostly cloudy and rainy days we are finally getting a break. Did my weekly grocery store trip and the usual household stuff. Just a normal day. 3y

Velvetfur I've been going through another long, drawn-out faff of a job application which has been quite stressful and has made my mental health wobble a bit, but I've also started my online CBT so hopefully that will be of help soon. Best of luck for Monday! 3y

tracey38 Had a busy but productive day. Had to get my oil changed and car inspected. Then came home and cleaned and vacuumed car since we finally had a Saturday without rain and freezing cold temps. 3y

JacqMac I haven‘t been ignoring you all, I promise. I‘ve just been trying to keep things going. We have one kid who is halfway across the country. He‘s 22. I‘m a little worried about him being alone. Our second kid is allowed to visit, because they eased the restrictions for a few days for single people. She‘s 19. So that‘s good for all of us. We have been cooking a lot and watching lots of movies. It‘s a weird time, but we‘re just trying to go with it. 3y

DieAReader Officially kiboshed all Christmas plans with everyone due to upcoming Province-Wide Shutdown (here in Ford land🙄). I completely agree with the shutdown, but I am not holding my breath on their hopeful outcome following the 28 days. More people not taking precautions or even following guidelines. Makes me so mad & scared. Where I live, because we are north eastern Ontario, our shutdown is Dec 26-Jan 9. This basically means that after Jan 9th, 3y

DieAReader More people than not will slowly and not so slowly returning to normal with little concern for anyone but themselves. For these reasons as well as many other mental & physical currently insurmountable obstacles & road blocks, hubs and I have decided to self-isolate throughout the shutdown. This is difficult and was a very difficult decision to come to, but we need to end 2020 better than it started (for us). This will be a #SelfCareIsolation time 3y

I often can‘t help but wonder where we‘d be if “The Powers that Be”🙄 actually cared about how their actions/inactions affected people (anyone) that are outside their circle (& putting💰in their pockets & offshore banks accounts). MicheleinPhilly @Squidget I TOTALLY get where you are coming from. We‘ve barely left the house since March, have been regularly wearing masks since March, etc. It is so unbelievably frustrating and infuriating to see people disregarding medical advice for their own selfish needs. I get it - it sucks. I should be at my aunt‘s house right now with my entire extended family celebrating. And I know plenty of Americans will be just like they did for Thanksgiving. 😡 3y

kezzlou85 Well thanks to the heavy rain much of our area is flooded. Luckily we're on a hill but so many of the roads round here are flooded. The last thing people need this year is flooding in their homes. 3y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Hey everyone! 👋 Merry Christmas! We had slightly warmer weather today so I took a long walk with the pup while my guy had an eye appointment. We're staying home for Christmas, other than the usual walks. It's weird & uneventful, but that just means a gathering later will be more special. Neither of us needs more stuff & we have no clue when live events will be available & safe, so we're not exchanging gifts either. 3y

CocoReads We are doing a very small gathering. My sisters family, my family and my parents. I work with my brother in law at the hospital snd we all agreed that if anyone has even the slightest symptom we won‘t get together. We will also be masking except for dinner snd practicing our best covid cautions. We did this at Halloween and it went well. Cancelled Thanksgiving and we wont be doing New Years. 3y

MicheleinPhilly Exactly. My aunt said, “No Christmas Eve bash at our house. Andrew65 @TrishB Actually had two good days on the trot, can‘t remember when that last happened. Spent the days, amongst other things, with senior leaders discussing plans from September, how we move forward from this and discussing how we amend the curriculum not to close the gaps as some have mentioned but how to bridge the chasms. We serve a high deprivation area so this has had a massive learning impact on many of the children 4y

CocoReads Today was ....weird. We weren‘t slammed at work but I didn‘t get my project done. One of our techs had a family emergency so we had to rearrange duties as best we could. But her emergency was that her BIL committed suicide. The weird part is that it was actually a murder-suicide and he (the brother in law) works at the same place as my husband. Not the same department but they knew each other. Tragic all around. 4y

CocoReads So I‘m not sure how tomorrow‘s going to be because I anticipate she won‘t be back until next week and we‘re already down a couple people due to vacations. But mostly I feel really awful for her and her family. 4y

I put in some vacation time to get some long weekends in July and August just for mental health days, no plans other than relaxation and to get away from work. @CocoReads What a horrible situation! IamIamIam D'oh, I missed yesterday! Lol, my son and I took a bike ride yesterday on the local bike path and I realized halfway through that I hadn't really ridden since I was 12! Lol, I spent the afternoon playing Animal Crossing because it was hard to move. My heart is with you all @CocoReads. 4y

Porthmadog : yesterday's tide | Myfanwy Morris

A bit late today as been at the hospital for a CT scan this evening. Today we have moved onto Criccieth and Porthmadog. Porthmadog is where they filmed the original Prisoner series starring Patrick McGoohan (number 6).

How has today been fir you. I‘ve been in a foul mood all day, quiet possibly the prospect of having to go to the hospital for the test and the ongoing issues about schools reopening.

BookwormM Hoping all is well with your scan 🤗 stressful day today had an incident at a roundabout we were in the left hand land going straight across the car in the right hand lane nearly hit us as he was going straight across and then shouted abuse that we were in the wrong lane had to double check Highway Code in case rules had changed since I last looked and nope left hand is still the lane for straight across. Rant over 🤣🤣 4y

kezzlou85 Hope the scan went okay today. Been a bit of a rough one here but we got through it. Eldest was stressing about maths work. This school stuff is making everyone crazy and yet it still seems to be going okay. 4y

Andrew65 @kezzlou85 As I say to our parents, try not to stress about the work. Do want you can or feels right and don‘t worry about learning progress. We will pick that up when the children return to school and close any gals that open up, it‘s what we‘re good at! And thanks 🥰 (edited) 4y

kezzlou85 Thanks for that. Its more the pressure my daughter puts on herself. Took her three hours to do one part today but she feels she has to do more despite the teacher saying no more than 3 hours. 4y

My daughter finished her last assessed work for her first year of uni! We had a couple of glasses of wine which is not quite how she saw her night out..... 4y

CocoReads Rainy, windy, and not as warm but still warm enough, if that makes sense. Busy at work—the nonsense continues re: furloughs. It seems like they‘re trying to force the senior staff out, either by furlough or moving them from the department they‘ve been in to one they‘ve never been in (I have a specific nurse in mind) but overall an ok day. 4y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Andrew, I hope you get good results from the scan. 🤞 The workday was noneventful, just like most of the others lately, which is more welcome than a bad day. Some good news...I'm an auntie again! My guy's sister had a healthy baby girl this morning. About 3 weeks early, but mom & baby are well. She was really hoping for a girl so I'm glad she got the surprise she wanted. I'll be glad when I can meet her in person. 4y

Day wasn't too bad here but really wish I wasn't at work and could nap as it's such a dark and rainy week this week! Tomorrow will be a bit rough as my coworker is off and I'll be in the clinic running most of it myself. 4y
