pickThis is the latest book in my favorite detective series, and it did not disappoint. The mystery was complicated and the ongoing story of Maeve‘s personal life moved forward in interesting ways. The mystery was solved but the book also ended in a giant cliffhanger! I can‘t wait for the next one!

This is in my top five of Sackett novels. I love this story of Tell Sackett fighting with everything he has and kinfolk come riding in to save his bacon at the last minute.
Yes, I am aware that L'Amour is formulaic but I enjoy these westerns like I enjoy John Wayne movies. Just something about them is comforting.

pickThe 8th book in the Under Suspicion series was another good addition to it. Two identical twins were accused separately of killing their parents, but each has said the other one did it. Their sister, Frankie, was 12 when it happened, now fixing to be 22 she contacts Under Suspicion True Crime show to find out what really happened. Laurie Moran and her team decided to do a special on the crime. I thought half way through that it was for ⬇️
pickWow, there‘s a lot to unpack here. 8-year-old Chrissie has killed a toddler. What could make a child commit such a heinous act? This book tries to answer that question by peeling back the layers of Chrissie‘s life. It‘s told in alternating timelines, between 8 y/o Chrissie and 20 years later, adult Chrissie who‘s now living under a new identity. This book is dark and disturbing, but very well done.
