Super excited!! I've decided that 2022 (maybe a bit earlier if I get antsy) is going to start #KingReads I want to go through all his books in order and buy as I go so by the time they are all read I will have a complete collection 😍 I have no plans to go with certain editions but this Halloween edition of Carrie is just....😍😍😍

I have tried the #LosersClub but my rogue reading doesn't allow for scheduling 🤣

Started it about 3 weeks ago and then classes picked up again. Finally got a break to read it. It‘s a great time with all this cold, stormy weather we‘ve been getting. Bonus! My grumpy old man of a reading buddy. #carrie #stephenking #storms #weather #librarybook #cat #seniorpets

I finished Pet Sematary earlier today. It was not as scary as I was led to believe but it was still enjoyable. Now off to start another! #carrie #stephenking #library #tea #penguin #bookslump

SCBird I can‘t count the number of times I‘ve read 2y
SCBird General King warnings apply to that one (from what I remember—brief racist dialogue/thoughts, maybe slightly creepy ways of describing a 9 year old girl). 2y
Astroneman @Soff thanks for your suggestion! 2y

I know I don't update often.
Here's a nice slice today: I enjoy the B&N editions books for various reasons, but the main reason is because there's multiple stories from the same author (ex. Agatha Christie).

I'm currently reading the B&N Edition of 3 Stephen King novels: Carrie, Salem's Lot and The Shining.

I've read Carrie one other time and the other two, I havent read. Wish me luck!

This movie breaks my heart. It‘s so sad & hard to watch. I‘m a sensitive person & this breaks my heart. My sister has never seen it, so I watched it with her (only for #scarathlon points). #TeamSlaughter #Carrie

MidnightBookGirl The book is sooooo good too! So glad King's wife fished it out of the trash! 2y

4/5 ⭐ - full review on my blog in bio.

I am probably one of the last people reading a Stephen King for the first time. Carrie was a lovely introduction to his world!

A story about Carrie, her crazy religious mother, her bullies and one prom night where everything goes horribly wrong.

This is a story that silently stands up to bullying, and by doing that raises such a strong voice in every corner of the world.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Great review! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘m reading The Stand right now, only my 3rd King, and really my first of his “horror” stories. So you‘re not alone on this journey. 3y
innah96 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Thank you Melissa. I am looking forward to reading more of his books :) 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @innah96 Me too, it took me a long time to decide to try one of his “horror” books, and I still went in at the shallow end of the pool. I started with 11/22/63 which was excellent and more time travel, and now have progressed to The Stand which is more human caused plague and good verses evil...sounds like Carrie was the same way, more bullying and great understory than straight up horror. 3y
BridgetteM You are not alone! I haven‘t read a Stephen King novel... yet. Great review! 3y
