A beautiful 6 mile walk along the UNCC greenway today! Stopped for a moment of silence in memory of the two victims - both UNCC students - that died in the school shooting two weeks ago today. 😢

Started a new audiobook that is actually a reread, haven‘t watched the movie yet.

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things | Jenny Lawson

My stress level was high this morning, so I took advantage of the beautiful weather to indulge in some self-care. Hubby and Maya dropped me off at one entrance to the trails, and I met them at the park at the opposite end. It turned into a beautiful family morning, and I also have two more greenways complete! #2019greenwaychallenge #LitsyWalkers

My mind wandered a lot, but this #audiobook seems to work well for that. I guess that‘s a good thing?

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things | Jenny Lawson

Took a much needed break from my reading assignments to go on a long trail walk before lunch! Listened to a few powerful chapters today.

✔️ 3rd greenway complete for my #2019greenwaychallenge! Lots of 🐸 today, & one hawk.

There is a 🏡 along this greenway that used to have a run-down school 🚌 on their property. The bus is gone, but now they have this odd Bigfoot-looking cut out with a No Trespassing sign. Kinda random! 🤷🏻‍♀️🧐 #LitsyWalkers

City of Ghosts | Victoria Schwab

It is really windy today! 💨 But the ☀️ came out! Took a 3-mile walk on the McDowell Creek greenway before having lunch with the fam at the open-air shopping village adjacent to the greenway.

✔️ another trail for my #2019greenwaychallenge!

And now that‘s done, I‘m settling in to read all afternoon!

BarkingMadRead Nah, I actually live on the SC side but the Carolina Thread Trail winds all around NC and SC, and it runs through my neighborhood. I'll have to take a pic and tag you! I live on Twelve Mile Creek 5y

alisiakae @BarkingMadRun There are more than 100 different thread trails! Including all of the Mecklenburg County greenways. I‘m trying to complete all the Meck ones this year, but if I finish early I will be expanding into SC and surrounding counties. 😃 5y

alisiakae @BarkingMadRun All the sections in my area are broken into small pieces about 1-3 miles long. Hopefully some day they will all connect together. 5y

BarkingMadRead That's so cool, I would live to hit them all, I wonder if I could get the husband to do it. I heard that they wanted to connect them, hopefully they do. What a fun trek that would be! 5y

City of Ghosts | Victoria Schwab

A lovely meandering, albeit wet, #audiowalk this morning while Maya was at Hebrew School. I always start at the 🕍, and finish at the local coffee shop on Main St where I met up with hubby.

In some spots, the tallest trees were icy on the top half, it was a neat contrast to look up and see the white tips.

Listened to Part 1 of the tagged book, and love it so far! Reminds me a bit of Gaiman‘s The Graveyard Book. #audiowalk #LitsyWalkers

alisiakae @kaye It‘s a greenway (walking/bike path), and yes that is a Free Little Library! Decent book selection, but nothing I wanted to carry away with me for the 2nd half of my walk. 😂 @julesG It is wet! @Bklover My daughter goes to Hebrew school Sunday mornings, so we have to get out kinda early anyway! 5y

alisiakae @tracey38 Thanks! It‘s not so bad here, I mostly got wet from the ice melting off the tops of the trees. And I had a waterproof coat so I stayed quite dry! 5y

alisiakae @LauraBeth It‘s a pretty campus! A very small school, but the town is cute. 😃 I saw Ta Nehisi-Coates speak on campus a few years ago, and Sonia Sotomayor! They get some excellent speakers. 5y
