Prince Caspian (The Chronicles of Narnia, Book 4)
Prince Caspian (The Chronicles of Narnia, Book 4) | C. S. Lewis
Illustrations in this ebook appear in vibrant full colour on a full colour ebook device, and in rich black and white on all other devices. Narnia . . . where animals talk . . . where trees walk . . . where a battle is about to begin. A prince denied his rightful throne gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.Prince Caspian is the fourth book in C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia, a series that has become part of the canon of classic literature, drawing readers of all ages into a magical land with unforgettable characters for over fifty years. This is a stand-alone novel, but if you would like to see more of Lucy and Edmund’s adventures, read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the fifth book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

This was a really good reread. I loved Reepicheep already, but now I love him even more. I love Aslan and how he frees his people. Basically everything in this book is amazing. I now want to rewatch the movie. Maybe soon!

Not my favorite of the series but still a solid entry. It does introduce the reader to one of my favorite characters (Reepicheep) so I will always be thankful for that.

Shley9225 Which one is your favourite? 5mo
jackilynn @Shley9225 it has been so long that I have read the completed series & I am interested in learning if my opinions when it comes to the series has changed or not. When I was younger the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe was my favorite so it will probably always hold a special place in my heart but I guess we shall see lol 5mo

I really liked Prince Caspian - while the battle felt a bit rushed, Caspian‘s story and the Pevensie children returning to Narnia after hundreds of years were really lovely.

Exciting for a children's book, Prince Caspian effectively presents a blurry line between good and evil in warfare than the previous entry, marking an increased, though minor, sophistication.

Reading this book made me feel the same joy that Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy felt returning to Narnia. I am falling in love with this series more and more with each book and every single aspect of it was incredible! 4/5⭐️

This one was different. I don‘t mean that in a bad way, but it just felt out of the norm from the previous 3. It was non-linear, had some pretty old language, and therefore, felt more grown-up. While reading, I also kept feeling that this was just a lead in to Voyage of the Dawn Treader (which isn‘t bad, since it‘s one of my faves). So, a little more grown-up, but still enjoyable.

sudi @GingerAntics and @MirrorMask i liked the movies too, i was upset thay they didn't make the movies anymore 😞 10mo
GingerAntics @sudi apparently there was a despite between the estate and Disney. 10mo
sudi @GingerAntics 😯 i didn't know that, i wish they would have found some solution and continued the films though, although they could reboot them ,cause the characters do keep changing, so it wouldn't pose a problem. 10mo
GingerAntics @sudi I‘m not entirely sure what it was. I think the estate was trying to make sure they stayed true to the books and disney didn‘t want them as involved or something. I honestly don‘t blame the estate for wanting to ensure the characters and stories are used in a way that is in line with C. S. Lewis‘s intent. 10mo
sudi @GingerAntics i googled it and they said that the estate wanted to make the Silver Chair after the Voyage Of The Dawn Treader movie and disney wanted to go with The Magicians Nephew. 10mo
GingerAntics @sudi seriously? The whole thing just falls apart, they fire these four kids, because they didn‘t agree on the order of the bloody movies? Good lord. 10mo
sudi @GingerAntics i know right, seems pretty stupid. Here's the link if you want to know the whole thing. https://www.quora.com/What-happened-to-the-Chronicles-of-Narnia-movie-series-Wil... 10mo
vkois88 I had no clue about all the drama... I just always wondered why they never released the rest of the movies. And it took forever for me to figure out that the reason she looked familiar..... the older girl was on Reign 10mo

I‘ve loved going back through this great classic series!

I haven‘t read them since I was a kid and am trying out the audiobook for this one. It‘s great so far!

Since I‘m a purist, and my childhood boxed set had them in the order Lewis WROTE them, as opposed to the story order, this is technically Book 2 for me. I‘ve found I really enjoy “rereading” books via audiobook (i.e., Harry Potter) since I‘m already familiar with the story. Anyone else??
