10/10 The series has sadly come to its end. I cried more through this book than any of the others. Not the ending I expected, but perfect nonetheless. Long but worth every minute of the read.

4.5🌟 Some questions answered, some new questions added. Wished there was more romance. Some really cool things happen. New narrators again, they did a decent job. Glad this book was better than the 2 middle ones! Overall I would give the series a solid 4 star for the last 4 books.

An overall good conclusion to the series that I wish I had read right after I finished the previous. I wish a couple characters had wrapped up differently, but I understand why they didn't and how that played in their development. Not as raunchy in certain scenes and a little less excitement and destruction than the other novels, but overall a good conclusion.

Hooray I finally finished it!!! This was probably my least favorite of the series. It just seemed to drag on.

As much as I love Mac and Barrons, I think this series needs to end.

AmandaL This is why I'm afraid to read Burned! I liked the direction Iced was going in. I was happy to have Mac and Barron's story end in Shadowfever. But I heard the author got a lot of push back from fans and the publisher because of how young Dani was in Iced. Then she changed the direction of how she initially envisioned the next books. I don't want to ruin how I feel about the series. 3y
TheLibrarian @AmandaL I also wasn't going to continue on with the series and now I kinda wish I didn't. Burned and Feversong were probably my least favorites in the series (I never read Iced) but there are a few things in them that made it worth reading. Completely up to you if you decide to read them or not. 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @AmandaL I didn't care for Burned at all. It's keeping me from picking up Feversong, and the review from @TheLibrarian is reinforcing my choice. It makes me sad. 3y
AmandaL @BarbaraTheBibliophage Same. It was such a great series. I think I may skip Burned and Feversong now. 3y

I don't know about you, but I always dread the end of the series. I didn't need to worry! Serving up the most glorious hot mess with a side of self awareness and a tall glass of Barrons, Moning wrote a satisfying and beautiful end to her series 😊 Balancing tied up loose ends with hints at the story's post book existence, Moning rounds out her story with all the laughs, tears and gasps I had hoped for!

I don't know if I would really consider this series to be romance novels. They are amazing in my opinion and I'm hooked. I guess they are my guilty pleasure because they are "romance novels" but I do not feel guilty reading them.

I absolutely loved the world KMM made with this series. This book was everything I was expecting when it comes to the Fever series. I loved Dani's parts and seeing her evolve as a character was amazing.

I thought this the end of the series but that last chapter made it sound like there would be more. Not sure how I feel about that. I wish Christian would get his own book.

Such a good book! It sucked me in and wouldn't let me go right up until the last page. I'm so sad to see it end and had hoped to see a certain storyline play out, but alas, we'll never know. The ending was definitely not an ending. Pretty much NO ONE's story concluded. I'm confused that this is supposed to be the last book but leaves off on huge cliffhangers. But still...I loved it. And I did do some hardcore crying in this one. #morethan400pages

RealLifeReading I've just requested the first book in this series! 3y

It pains me to say this: Feversong is by far the worst in the Fever series. I am not sure if it is because:

• The lack of banter from Ryodan, Lor and Barrons

• The male narrator was the worst of the (too) many that they have used for this series (I miss Phil Giagante!)

• The writing was just not as good (long winded and boring at times) as the previous books

I hope that this isn't the death of this series and that Book 10 will be a redeemer.

wen4blu Oh no!!! I've been so looking forward to this one. 3y
carys14 @wen4blu It's not super bad but just not up to par with the previous books. I wish there was something between Pick and So-so because that is where I would actually put it. 3y

I'm almost at a loss for words. There was so much going on in this book. Mac is still awesome. Dani is still awesome. Everyone is awesome. Even Cruce apparently. I liked this book and I feel like the ending was good. I have so many questions that are unanswered but I've been told this is only the conclusion to the Mac/Barrons storyline not the entire Fever series. I'm hoping some things get wrapped up in future books. All in all a good read!

AmandaL I loved the Fever series to Shadowfever, and Dani's book, but I have been afraid to pick up the new MAC and Barrons books. They got their happy ending in Shadowfever. I don't know if I can take any more drama between those two! 😂 3y
JulieAnn @AmandaL Not much drama between them in this one. Just all the other stuff going on in the world. There's a lot of Dani. I guess setting up for the next books? 3y
JulieAnn @AmandaL I do agree. It can be a bit much sometimes 3y
AmandaL If I remember correctly, the new books were originally supposed to follow Dani, but Moning got a lot of push back from fans that Dani was too young. I'm guessing she's older in the series now, so it would make sense for Dani's story to continue. 😊 3y
JulieAnn @AmandaL That would be a very good guess. 😃 3y

I was so reluctant going into this book, afraid there was no way it could live up to the others and yet make some kind of ending to all the threads that have been woven throughout the series. Even in the beginning it was a tough read, as the events of the prior book played out in grisly detail, BUT once again KMM twisted this story to perfection, with all those disparate threads weaving together, splitting apart, and rejoining again.....

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ...It was a great ending to the story arc started way back in Darkfever, with characters in completely different and unexpected places from where they started, and yet she left just enough of a door open that she could open that door again in the future or leave it up to the readers' imaginations to fill in the future. 3y
That-Bookish-Hiker I requested this from my library and am patiently waiting for my email to tell me it's ready to be picked up. I think I'm like number 30 out of 40 in line lol. 3y

Again, more bias, as KMM has been my absolute favourite author since 2001, and she was the only author on that list until last year when I added Stiefvater and Maas. That aside, Mac has always made me feel so human. Her own battle with wanting to be light-hearted and feminine and good as well as wanting to be carnal and dangerous and monstrous happens to a lot of people that have been through trials in life. She is all of us. This is a solid PICK!

When the bad guy starts ranting in your book and you are reminded about facts (crops) versus alternative facts (weeds), and wondering how long it will it will be until you're no longer certain what a fact even is.

I think I'm going to need to revisit The Signal and The Noise by Nate Silver this year, AND I'm very disappointed that politics is invading my escapism reading time. Dang it all!!!

Bittersweet, that's how I feel. After reading the book, I'm left with still so many questions. I'm still wondering what's going to happen next. Still, while reading this I was mostly on the edge of my seat. I didn't want to finish this book right away. I wanted to prolong it. I wanted to savor it. This is what usually happens when I'm in the Fever world. So knowing this might be the end...yeah, bittersweet.
