I was pleasantly surprised. The last few in the series have put Stephanie in a holding pattern, and I was worried that would continue. This one made very definite waves toward ending that. I'm wondering if the next book is the last in this series, as the title doesn't follow the number pattern. I can't wait to find out.
#BookishBingo: Characters make cookies
I breezed through the latest Stephanie Plum book. I enjoyed this one and thought it was better than her last few books. Stephanie seems to have grown, in her thought process and to a degree her maturity. There were a few laugh out loud moments, but I also had a feeling that the mystery element played more of a role this time than it has lately.
I‘m using this for the #NeverEndingSeries prompt for #GrowUp #BBRC .
Well...it took a dozen or so books but I actually think that Evanovich is starting to care about her characters again. This wasn't bad. It had some classic Stephanie Plum moments, but it wasn't like the last several where it seemed like she just recycled plot points and threw in some filler text. Don't get me wrong, it's not great yet, but there's a glimmer of hope that series can turn it around and pull Plum out of character purgatory.
After the last few just being ok, I didn‘t have super high expectations but this is the best Stephanie Plum story in a long time. Revolving around Grandma Mazur‘s unfortunately poor choice of marrying a mobster who dies promptly a few hours after her marriage (not a spoiler, this is the beginning of the book). Much classic mayhem ensues, with all of our favorite characters. Definitely recommend to my fellow fans of this series!
It‘s a fun book!!! 💜💜💜

Despite the repetition in this series, my heart leaps a little when the new one arrives for me at the library. Hooray for escaping from reality for a little while!
GUYS. I met Janet Evanovich tonight!! She talked about her new book and all sorts of hilarity ensued. She‘s amazing.
Couldn‘t wait to get off work and get the newest Stephanie Plum novel today. Love this series!
