So I‘m not really a novella fan, if it didn‘t make the cut for the novel it often seems extraneous, Taryn‘s behavior in The Cruel Prince was bewildering enough that I was curious about her POV in that time frame.
Taryn sucks.
Real Song of Fire and Ice/GoT book 1 Sansa Stark nonsense.
It‘s a quick read/listen, but felt unnecessary.

I loved to be back in this world & with these characters so much! I noticed how well created characters were and it was so easy to remember who was who. That tells that they had left their marks on me. I also loved the world, with all the cruelness.
This was a perfect recap to me because I have read the trilogy couple years ago. I think I might have liked this less if read immediately after the first book.

“You‘re awful.” He said it as though he was delighted. “And the worst part is that you believe otherwise.”
Cardan pretty much described my opinion on Taryn.

Meh. Holly Black definitely picked the correct twin (Jude) to center the main stories around. This side novella tells her sister Taryn‘s (bit dull) point of view. 🫤

Just finished The Lost Sisters novella. I liked it pretty good. It was interesting to hear from Taryn‘s point of view. 4 stars #thelostsisters #hollyblack

Favorite: I honestly can't decide between Lore & Impossible

This was a super quick novella told from sister Taryn's point of view which I enjoyed. I don't think this is a necessary read for the series, but enjoyable nonetheless.

3/5 very short story about the sisters in The Cruel Prince. I did like seeing the other side of the story, but I don't think it changed my mind much.

I really enjoyed the Folk of the Air series but sadly I didn't feel like this novella added much to the story. It felt like it was on the periphery of the good stuff and focused on the unlikeable characters.

I can't help but read all the little books in between with series I like, and I'm really glad I read this one. It laid out a lot of things that had you wondering about between the sisters from the first book. Quick little read was like a little peek into their lives.

Continuing my read through of the series (my Cruel Prince review is a little ways back in my feed) I decided to read this novella. I loved the concept: getting to see the events of the first book through Taryn‘s eyes, getting to see Locke through her eyes, the fact that I was told as a half-story and half apology letter, even the fact that it started with a fairytale. I just found that the actual writing of the story was quite meh :(

Short novella from The Cruel Prince saga, set between books 1 & 2. It was nice to have a bit of backstory... too bad it was mainly focused on the most useless character🤣: Taryn. But at least it showed different aspects of her character that were only hinted at before, plus more about Vivi!! 💜🤗🌈 (whom I LOVE!!!) and lots of backstory on Taryn and Judes‘ relationship. Overall ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2

The tagged novella on ebook + blueberry pancakes after a long 12hr shift= Heaven!! 😋#TheWickedKingSaga #HollyBlack #TheLostSisters
This is pretty interesting if you want to know Taryn's point of view. She will convince you, or not, but at least you will have all the information 😊
Let me start by saying Holly Black is still queen. 👑
I adore her and her writing. This novella, however, was not great. The writing in places was beautiful. I have pulled several quotes from it. But it was so, so short. Disappointingly short. I only paid $2.99 for it but I kind of want my back. There was no plot either. I‘m glad I read it to say I‘ve read every book available in that series but boy was I disappointed.

Fairy tales have a moral: Stay on the path. Don‘t trust wolves. Don‘t steal things, not even things you think no normal person would care about. Share your food but don‘t trust people who want to share their food with you; don‘t eat their shiny red apples, nor their candy houses, nor any of it. Be nice, always nice, and polite to everyone. Don‘t break a promise. Be bold, be bold, but not too bold.

Short listen, and I had problems with getting into the story (probably because I haven't read any of the other books, whuppsi), but it was interesting enough when I first did.
Don't know if I liked it enough to get the wicked king, should I?
Feel like it was better than so-so but not a pick, sometimes I wish Listy had a button for good/okei books 😅📖

Realized that The Wicked King releases tomorrow and it‘s one of my most anticipated this year so whilst waiting at the Apple Store for the roommates Mac to be fixed I am reading this. Fun fun.

This was beautifully written. But Taryn is still completely horrible. I also don‘t think this was needed. 🤷♀️

I listened to this short novella on our drive today. It was about an hour and a half! It gives Tarryns side of the story from The Cruelest Prince. I enjoyed it and enjoyed finding out her side of the story versus Jude‘s butttt I don‘t think it made me like her anymore. I still don‘t care for her and didn‘t really care for her so called “apology” For those of you who have read/listened to this what did you think?

Loved the story, Ms. Holly Black is a extraordinary author. Now for the story.🤬 This girl is possessed!🤬I didn't know it was possible but I hate Taryn even more now! What a psychopath!

Loved seeing Taryn's perspective but still don't like her. I like her more than I did though. Dying for more from this world!

Just downloaded this novella of A Folk of the Air series. Really excited to read this gem 💎 I loved The Cruel Prince and I can‘t wait for The Wicked King 👑 that comes out in January 2019! This novella is a great fix for more Holly Black! Plus I‘m in my new comfy Pajamas and fuzzy pink slippers!

This short story reveals Taryn‘s accounting of the events in Cruel Prince. Meant to be an apology and an explanation to her sister, the prose are beautiful and the style weaves between epistolary and poetic. Taryn‘s narrative adds depth and nuance to the world and the characters populating the series. This novella serves to both tide you over as you wait for the January release of Wicked King, and to sharpen your appetite and impatience for more.
