I need a new read. I decided it should be one of my (many) unread BOTM books. This list is of the ones I haven‘t read yet. Which would you chose?

Karisa Whew! You like the heavy stuff! I do too. I would go for Circe if you love Greek mythology, Heart's Invisible Furies for pride month, or American War if in the mood for eerie futurism. 😊 5y

AmyG You have scratching things for her? I had a friend who layed down a big piece cardboard for her cat who used to scratch that. I will say....I learned alot about my cat from googling and reading people‘s ideas about issues. Good luck. (edited) 6y

peaKnit Ha! Kevin likes to chase us on his back legs and bite our shins and calves!😳 we have been trimming his nails, maybe that would help? 6y

JenReadsAlot @peaknit her nails are trimmed- she's naughty! I read cats don't like citrus so I put a few drops of lemon essential oil on the carpet. 6y

peaKnit Woodman‘s has a spray for it as well, we have sprayed it on a chair and it seems to have helped. 6y

#GroupO is looking for a Litten to step in for #LMPBC! One of our members is unable to join in this round, so we thought we‘d see if anyone would like to join last minute!

If you are unfamiliar, it‘s a by mail book club where each member picks a own book and writes notes, highlights, generally marks it up and then sends it along to the next person! We are due to send out the first book by the end of July!

HELLO! Question for all those who use #netgalley
If you're reading a book you requested and aren't enjoying it AT ALL, at what point (if at all) do you stop? I'm only a chapter into a book I requested and it is terrible. I haven't read anything this bad in my life. 😩
I don't want to put that in a review, however if I don't review it, it will count against my stats. Help!

Kaye I‘m always honest with them. I don‘t torture myself by reading a book I hate. If it‘s not good then you‘re not required to read it. I don‘t leave a bad review on a book I don‘t finish but I do send a note to the publisher telling them I didn‘t complete it and why then thank them for allowing Me the opportunity to try it. I don‘t have time for bad books. (edited) 6y

laurieluna @Kaye thats what I'm thinking. I haven't read much though and I'm having an inner conflict over whether I should give it more of a chance. But the way the author has written the character and the speech is just making my brain itch. Maybe I will let them know. Thanks 😊 6y

DGRachel They ask for honest reviews, so if it‘s so bad that I can‘t finish it (and there have been a couple) I‘m honest about what doesn‘t work for me. I try not to be mean, but I do try to explain what I didn‘t like and note how far I got. 6y

batsy I email the publisher if I bail and let them know that it just wasn't for me. There is that option to not review or you could also just leave a brief review saying you didn't finish it because it just wasn't your kind of book, etc. :) 6y

Avanders I try to give it as much as I can.. I'll give it 50 pages or 10% - whichever is longer. I read one where I made it to 10% (which happened to be about 50 pages) and had to stop ... it was so. Bad. Like @DGRachel , I will post a review about why exactly it didn't work for me - not mean, but honest. 6y

candority I have used the option to not leave feedback before, but not reviewing the book meant that my score didn‘t increase... 😕 6y

laurieluna @candority yeah. If they had done just a chapter preview before you request, I would have definitely known this wasn't for me. The premise sounds so good, the execution, not so good imo. 6y

candority That‘s so disappointing! I guess you know for future requests though 😊 my problem was that the files wouldn‘t transfer to my Kobo and wouldn‘t open in Adobe Digital Editions on my laptop, so I literally could not read it (but was still penalized for it). 6y
