This story got a little slow in the middle, but pulled it together as it concluded.

I really enjoyed The Hating Game, so I was excited to read this one. Sadly, I did not enjoy it as much. It was just okay.
Do you garden and listen to audiobooks? These beauties are from my garden. Luckily they were there before we moved in because I do not have a green thumb. I love to just listen to audiobooks and do daily activities. I‘m not a cleaner so it definitely helps. Currently listing to 99 Percent Mine.

Reviews of last week‘s readings to come when I get a minute!
Just finished this one. It‘s a fun, light, easy read. I‘ve been in the mood for lighter novels lately, and it was exactly what I needed. Some elements are predictable, but it still kept my interest.
Note: Darcy‘s objectification of Tom and their possessiveness towards one another can seem problematic. I‘m choosing to let it go because it WAS enjoyable for me nonetheless.
A mess. Jealousy as a turn-on just doesn't work for me and that was so much of the book. Kind of nice to see a character with a chronic heart condition as the lead although I don't know enough to know if the rep was accurate. Also - I think Jamie was supposed to be redeemed by the end, but I still think he's pretty terrible as a human and as a brother. #audiobooks
Sparks fly, fireplaces are torn down, cheeky humor abounds, pick up lines are thrown and pretty soon it‘s badda bing badda boom, this master bedroom‘s back in business (as soon as it‘s built that is)!
While this was not quite as captivating as The Hating Game, there‘s not doubt Thorne‘s got storytelling chops. Solidifying her as an instant listen audiobook author, this easily sailed into a solid 3.75 ⭐️.
Ever had that moment when you get 12 audiobooks from the library and you secretly pray one will sail by easy listening style??? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ Sally Thorne‘s 99% Mine was that audiobook. 2 sittings and soon it‘s 1 book down, 11 to go!
Darcy Barrett is a lippy, down-on-her-luck photographer. Tom Valeska, her brother‘s best friend, is the contractor she‘s hired to reno her grandmother‘s cottage.
I just finished after being on a waiting list at my local library for 4 months. And that was for the eBook. So, was it worth the wait? Yes, but. But it‘s a good slow burn romance and I don‘t regret the hours I spent reading it.
And I‘m looking forward to her next novel. Read this and her first novel The Hating Game.
Another adorable novel by Sally Thorne. It is hard not to love the characters and laugh along with their insecurities and hilarious outbursts. I felt it wasn‘t quite as good as “The Hating Game” and Darcy was a bit too brash for me to be able to fully embrace her. Nevertheless, I laughed and I loved and will patiently wait until Thorne‘s next novel... and I would happily read her grocery lists in the meantime! More more more!
“The Hating Game” was one of my favorite romance books ever. It was just so charming and sweet. Ever since I read it, I‘ve been looking forward to Sally Thorne‘s next book. “99 Percent Mine” isn‘t as good as its predecessor, but it was still a fun read. Honestly, I‘m a little disappointed, but maybe this book could never live up to my expectations. I‘m still going to read it again though 🤷🏻♀️
Becks and I love, love, loved Sally Thorne's first romance novel, The Hating Game. It was uproarious. Well, Sally is back with a vengeance. 99 Percent Mine brings the snarky humour and sexy appeal of The Hating Game by introducing us to the Barrett twins and their "adoptive" sibling Tom Valeska. The chemistry is palpable and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Full Review at https://goo.gl/H4sEUp
Oh man how I tried. I mean I REALLY tried. Because after all, I looked forward to this book for what felt like forever. And I, along with many others, loved The Hating Game so much. But boy, is this book a hot mess. At first it took me a minute to figure out what was going on. Then once I think I did, I realized I didn‘t care. That‘s why at 31 % I ultimately decided to bail on 99% Mine. 😢
I thought 99 Percent Mine was a different read than the Hating Game but it was equally as good. I gave this one a 4 star rating. If you're into the angsty reads, stubborn heroines and gorgeous construction man as heros (ahem... I married one in real life) this book is just for you. The interactions between these two will have you busting a gut, and burning from inside out at the same time.
OMG SO GOOD!! I fell so hard for Darcy and Tom and their romance that I could barely put the book down to sleep halfway thru. Thorne has a cool way with Darcy‘s words; she turned regular words and phrases into romance and serious super-swoon 😍 I love the way Darcy worshipped everything about Tom, and I loved every single thing about Tom. Great relationships written in here—not just romantic, but the frustrating sibling-type too. LOVED! #romantsy
I've heard of "Sophomore Slumps," but this takes that concept to whole new level. Character formation & development, weird plot pacing and "crashes" (where plot lines or ideas run counter to each other in the same scene,) over-the-top emotional intensity (something on the order of the whole world sparkling)... It all felt wrong, and what's worse, The Hating Game epilogue, which is a bonus feature, felt equally off.
I was having a shit-tacular weekend. And then my book was delivered! I had lost hope it was going to make it to me this weekend. It came at 7:45!
After I read and loved The Hating Game by Sally Thorpe, I looked for any other books she had written. When I found out The Hating Game was her first book. I looked forward in anticipation for her new one. Unfortunately, it does not live up to her first novel. I didn‘t really care for the main characters or the love story,
I should preface by saying, I have a congenital heart defect, so it‘s possible that I‘m overly sensitive to how it is used in this book as a plot device. The heroine, Darcy, really made me angry...This is supposed to be a fun, angsty and banter-filled romance, but Darcy purposely and self-destructively neglects her heart health and I just could not look past it to enjoy the rest of the book.
While I didn't like this one as much as I did The Hating Game, that first novel is a tough first novel to match. 99 Percent Mine centers on a compelling and complex protagonist whose long-time relationship with her love interest offers great depth to their relationship. Fun contemporary romance.⠀
First book mail of the year! (But not first book haul. I did go to Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago but that doesn‘t count b/c I had gift cards.) These are two of my most anticipated reads although I‘ve seen many mixed reviews for 99 Percent Mine.
