I didn‘t enjoy this quite as much as Way of Kings but it was still a great novel. I felt overwhelmed at times with the world building. Shallan also drove me insane during this book.

This was phenomenal. I enjoyed book 1, but like all epic fantasy book 1‘s, it was heavy on world building and introduction of characters, so it took a long time to get to the action. This is 1300 pages of action and amazing characters. This is a beautiful high fantasy world and this book is added to my favorite reads of all time. I am a full on Sanderson fan now! 5⭐️
#Chunksterchallenge - 1310 pages!

I did a little book shopping today. It feels like it‘s been forever since I set foot into a bookstore. I went in for Words of Radiance but I got distracted along the way.
I‘ve been wanting Deserter for awhile but I‘ve never heard of The Haunted Bookstore. Let me know in the comments if you‘ve read it. I‘d love to hear some reviews.
I DNFed this the first time. When I picked it back up, I tried it in another format, the GraphicAudio edition.
The format itself added a great deal to my enjoyment. It is full-cast with sound effects and music worthy of a film. I also found that characters to whom I'd previously been indifferent evolved into people I could invest in. On top of that, new characters were introduced who fascinated me. At the end, I literally screamed with delight.
Nice impressed with my self 4 months to complte this on and off go me!!!!
Looking forward to reading edge dancer then onto book 3
Massive book it was and I did it and understood it better then first one but did prefer the first one way of kings not sure why yet need to process my thoughts 🤣.
Nice brew and carry on reading :) nice chilled day off.
Part 2:
6) The Royal Holiday
7) The Survivors
8) Anna Karenina
9) The Snow Child
10) The Stormlight Archives (particularly Words of Radiance)
Runners Up: Before the Coffee Gets Cold, The Lazy Genius Way, Beartown, Amelia Unabridged, Address Unknown, & The Book of Will
See any of your favorites?
Even though, in my humble opinion, the series subsequently goes downhill, Words of Radiance is my June pick for #12booksof2021.
I'm still reading Rhythm of War and how I feel at the end of it will determine whether I continue with the series.
Words of Radiance, however, did what I love about Sanderson's books... it crescendo-ed! The action built and built and left me wanting more at the end.
Also, I like the pictures 😄
Love my kindle fire hd 8 that hubby got me got Xmas. Winner I can use borrow box now and kindle I can continuous read and reading ruler like phone app does. No more reading on phone ekkkk
Started this Saturday read Saturday and today managed 100 pages in 2 days nice 👍📖 100 pages of this book , 58 pages assassins apprentice on Saturday 2 chapters 20 minutes in court. Best put book down and go to bed.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I freaking loved The Way of Kings, but I loved this even more. This follows right after the first book. There was a lot of oh crap moments, some plot twists, humor, and just a lot of character growth. Soooo good. Pick this series up!!!

I didn't rate the first 40% but once I got to know all the characters again, I can safely say that Words of Radiance was pretty epic. Some of the most complex lore-building I've come across in fantasy, lots of action, excellent illustrations and kept me on my toes 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Now for Oathbringer... 😀😁
Okay Part 2 of this book was even better!!! Action packed and I can‘t help but fall in love with all the characters! Everyone has their own storyline going and I can‘t wait to see where they all end up! 😬😬😬
Loved the story line and the character development was amazing! I couldn‘t put this down because the story was unfolding and finally was getting answers to my questions!!!
Trying to book selfie with my kitty and my Kindle 😁
Reading Words of Radiance. After all the time I spent rolling my eyes at Shallan's Dad-joke zingers, I really shouldn't have found a poop joke as laugh-out-loud funny as I did 😂😂
I had a productive reading month in May considering I‘d just started my job at that time but weekends were helpful and with the wonder that is audio books I was still doing at least a book a day. I‘m slowly making my way through the Stormlight Archive series and it is so good.
Some really good reads and some not so much, overall a great month though.
Fellow readers: does this one get better?
I'm nearly a third of the way through Words of Radiance and I'm still waiting for it to grab me. I liked (but didn't love) The Way of Kings so thought I'd carry on with the series.
It usually takes me a while to get into a fantasy world, but it doesn't seem to be capturing my imagination in the same way that, say, a Robin Hobb or George R.R. Martin book would.
I'll read on and see what happens!
Great reading month. I‘m starting to dive into the plays for the American Theatre Critics Association‘s award for a new play. I‘m on the committee that decides and I‘ve got one month to read the rest, so that will keep me busy in March.
The first book was filled with so much world building that it was hard to keep track of everyone. The second book was incredible because you‘re already fully immersed in the lives of all the characters and now they are finally interacting! I love Shallon‘s story. This book brings together so many of the plot lines that have been building. So many questions are answered. Now I can‘t wait to read the next one!
Bit of Brandon Sanderson before bed 😊 Need something a bit livelier because I keep picking up serious books about issues and the real world. Want to lose myself for a bit.
I live in Kansas so this is just a lake. And don‘t worry the numbers are limited. I had to get out of my house!
I enjoyed this second book from the Stormlight Archive just as much as I enjoyed the first and I‘ll begin the third book soon. Wonderful progression of the story, and the character development continues to satisfy.
Bit more warfare oriented, but didn‘t lose my interest. I enjoy the Interludes — it will be fun to see if those minor characters become major. And ... Wit, the Shakespeare-like clown, is one of my favorite people/creatures.
DNF at page 246. Right now I'm not sure if this is a permanent DNF or just a pause.

2) This is disturbing: "Using a fetching face to make men do as you wish is no different from a man using muscle to force a woman to his will, she'd said. Both are base, and both will fail a person as you age." If you don't know why it's disturbing, I wouldn't want to be left alone with you.
“Using a fetching face to make me do as you wish is no different from a man using muscle to force a woman to his will, she'd said. Both are base, and both will fail a person as they age.“
Da fuq is this shit, Sanderson?
Men can, in fact, say no to seduction. A man using muscle to force someone to their will is an act of violence. Flirting to get what you want is a form of manipulation. There's a big fucking difference between the two—choice.
“Yalb, have you been boasting again?”
“‘Taint boasting if some of it‘s true.”
What can i say, this book is as good as it gets! Although each of the books in the SLA is a chunkster worth over 1000 pages, the story and the language is an easy read but so well written. Amazing world and magic system which is not so over the top, not too complex political intrigues and what amazing character building. But somehow I m finding shallan a bit too arrogant and Navami‘s indifference to her own king son is a bit weird.

I literally binged the first one so I was glad to have the foresight to buy book 2 at the same time (always a risky choice when you start a series).
This sequel did not disappoint. I loved keeping up with the characters from Book 1. Some snippets are clearly there for a larger purpose and will not make sense till i‘ve read the next one but that‘s fine by me. I binged again, read it in 3 days.

And the plot thickens.. the story gets better and better! 🐚🌿
The hardcover edition is heavy though, either I have to read on a table or from my lap 🤓

5 stars! Fantastic! I haven't been this swept away by a fantasy series since ASOIAF. I loved the first book but this one BLEW me away. Please tell me #3 isn't a let down! No spoilers though. I've started the year off with #chunksters #4 #2020

Well, this is going to take awhile!
Oh my goodness! I have come to LOVE this series! Taking the story up immediately after the first book, it develops characters that I've really come to enjoy, throwing twist and revelations alike at you. I was extremely engaged and will 100% be wrecked once I read book 3 all within the same 2 weeks. HIGHLY recommend!
I finished my first book in the #YearoftheChunksters It was a little over 1K pages. So good and it was also exhausting. Love the story and the world building is spectacular! Memorable characters with lots of action. Already looking forward to the next book in the series.

........What did I just read....... 😐
My five favorite books from 2014. This reminds me I still need to read the 3rd book in Sanderson's Stormlight Archive. LOVED the first two books. #decadeofbooks
Somehow, this novel manages to be astonishing even as I get accustomed to Sanderson‘s high quality work. I loved it, it is a fantastic second chapter to the Stormlight Archive and I couldn‘t help but read it late into the night when I really ought to have been sleeping. But who could sleep when there is honor and hope, treachery and foreboding, and characters who feel so real they could be human? I was on the edge of my seat, loving every word.
“...We all see the world by some kind of light personal to us, and that light changes our perception. I don‘t see clearly. I want to, but I don‘t know if I ever truly can.”
I read everything I set out to read last week! That was:
• the second half of BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE and—my biggest accomplishment—the last 70% of WORDS OF RADIANCE
• a goodly chunk of OVER THE TOP
• HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX on audio
• CLAY‘S ARK (which, okay, I‘ve still gotta finish, but it‘ll happen tonight)
I also squeezed in the latest volume of THE LEGEND OF KORRA. It was my only comic last week. 😔
