A very direct and factual account of the case of a serial killer in Oregon in the late 1960‘s. I do not read much true crime, but this was interesting and horrifying. It does read a touch dated, as it was released in the 80‘s, but not beyond some technology and medical/psychological science would change much of the investigation. I would recommend to fans of true crime. 4⭐️

I did an assignment at Oregon State Hospital. Reading this book with descriptions of locations had taken me back. And to know he haunted these halls way back when.

I love Anne Rule‘s writing; I first read her book about Bundy and just loved how she wrote. She writes very straightforward and keeps to the facts. I can‘t wait to read even more of her work.

Ann Rule chronicles the case of Jerry Brudos, the Lust Killer. Also known as the Shoe Fetish Killer, Brudos targeted young women in the Pacific Northwest during the 1960s. Rule gives chilling detail and insight into his monstrous crimes, while still never forgetting the victims.

My weekend included some new books! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 @Meredith3 gifted me the top two books for my birthday, plus that Ted Bundy bookmark (“Better mark your place in this textbook so you can defend yourself at your murder trial. Or you could just escape.” 😂😂) The other bookmark is from @Mdargusch

I also got a #readersgonnaread book from @morgan_krahn (it is @erinreads ‘ selection).

Reviewsbylola And I realized now that it doesn‘t have to be a secret anymore because we‘re pretty much at the end of our rotation. 😂 6y

A retired doctor I volunteer with told me a story of a new doctor moving to town, who thought that people here hated outsiders since they kept spitting at his house as they walked by. It turned out that he had moved into Jerry Brudos' old house. The family quickly moved into a new home. Not only is that creepy, but it hits close to home since I drive past that address often. You never really know what's happening in houses as you drive by.

Connections! I read and LOVED Stillhouse Lake. Then yesterday as I listened to #MyFavoriteMurder (episode 79), some details of Karen's case sounded familiar. She was covering serial killer Jerry Brudos. While the real case and Caine's book didn't line up exactly, there were a lot of similarities. Karen got her case from Ann Rule's book Lust Killer, so of course I downloaded it ASAP.

And Georgia went first in this episode 😆
