Structurally a mess and overly sentimental, but exactly the kind of light, fluffy read I needed during the election madness last week!
I think I'm just not the target audience for this one, but I'm not connecting. Bailing at 75 pages...
Good. Interesting characters and concept. Nice love story and the description of places used in the books makes you feel that you are there. Thank you #Netgalley for the free proof copy of book.

I really enjoyed this book about love, rediscovering who you are, learning to embrace life and forgiveness, of yourself and others. Quirky characters, a slow build, sweet moments and a couple heart pounding ones too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
First book finished for the #deweys24hourreadathon #readathon #deweyapril #deweysreadathon
Changing my setting and reading outside for a bit. My house is a little active right now; I‘ll be less distracted (interrupted) out here, plus it‘s a beautiful day. #readathon #deweyApril #deweysreadathon
Mid morning (nearly lunchtime) snack, some Cinnamon Toasters and coffee. I have read exactly 100 pages of the tagged book, so far today, and I am really enjoying it. #readathon #deweyapril Took a break to help hubby after he ran errands. He picked up our HS Senior‘s banner, ordered months ago, never to be hung in the school. 😢 I am glad we were able to get it. We will hang it outside. So emotional. My poor boy, missing out on so much. 💔
Starting this one next. #cleartheshelves Pretty much a random pick off of my bookshelf in a rush this morning out the door for an appointment with the vet. I needed a book because pet parents wait in their cars while techs come get the pet and take it inside for the doctor to see. The doc calls with questions, diagnosis and next steps. Payment is taken over the phone. I never left my car. Good system in today‘s social distancing world. ❤️🐶📚
It was nice to visit this small French village. Definitely took my mind off of the current state of the world!
This one took longer than it should have to read. It was not my favorite. Parts of the book was really good but it was slow and I couldn‘t stay focused at times. The characters didn‘t really draw me in.
Life wasn‘t too short: it was too long to waste unduly on non-love, non-laughter and non-decisions. And it began when you first took a risk, failed and realized that you‘d survived the failure. With that knowledge you could risk anything.

Thank you library for reminding me that I checked this out and hadn‘t started reading it yet despite it being due very soon. Let‘s see how quick I can finish it!
9/10 Excellent read. Heartfelt and sweet, no big twists, just a well written story, that pulls you along rooting for Marianne all the way. Excellent summer read, great for travel, or simply relaxing and enjoying.
A woman on vacation with her husband in Paris decides she can no longer bear her life, and in an attempt to control her fate, jumps in the river to kill herself. She is rescued. This is the story of what she does with her second chance at life. While there were a few poignant moments, mostly I was bored, and I found myself wishing that she'd succeeded in her suicide attempt so I would have been spared the rest of the book. #LMPBC #GroupR
@ItsAngel @LauraBeth @DGRachel I pulled these four off the shelf. I‘m fine with any of them. How To Love A Jamaican are short stories.
#LMPBC
A woman comes to terms with the facts of her unhappy marriage and unhappy life and decides to commit suicide in Paris. But she doesn‘t and this is her story. I really wanted to like this, and I did like parts of it, but not the whole.
I‘m gonna have to give this a “so-so” rating. It was a nice story but it didn‘t wow me or leave me wanting more. The middle got a little boring but I stuck with it hoping for that heart pounding ending. I think it was a nice ending but not that exciting. Not saying don‘t read it but just don‘t expect an exciting read.

Expanding on the long-married woman dumping their husband theme, I‘m going to tackle this book before I tackle The Wife by Meg Wolitzer.
First book of 2019 finished! It also supported my #unreadshelfchallenge2019 I had bought this book at R.J. Julia's bookstore in CT, but it had been sitting on my shelf staring at me. I enjoyed meeting the quirky characters and was happy with the way the story resolved itself. I think I may read her other book, The Little Paris Bookshop for my next fiction read (that has been on my shelf even longer!).
Long day on the feet today. A little legs-up-the-wall to pamper my feet and hopefully finish this book tonight. Sleep well Littens! 😴
Ending this evening in a cozy way. Wishing all you Littens a beautiful start to 2019!
Been on a roll since early this morning trying to get my house back in order before going back to work tomorrow. I'm waiting on some laundry to finish so it's as good a time as any to get in a little reading.
Looks like this will be my first book of 2019. If you have read it, did you enjoy it?
I finished this one today as well. I enjoyed reading Marianne's story of liberation, love, and finally finding true happiness at sixty. ☕
The book started out pretty slow, but halfway in, Marianne's personalities really shine through. The rest of the characters starts to bloom as well. I almost bailed mid-book, but thank god I stayed through. The ending is so sweet and satisfying!
And if her soul was loved, a woman would be transformed into a wondrous creature, however ordinary her looks.
So I have an eARC of this, and the ARC has a cover (if it doesn't have a cover I'll purchase it when the final one comes out) but I'm thinking of purchasing it... should I even though I already technically have it???

Okay Littens. Vote for what I should read/listen to next. Just leave 1 or 2. My “life” is in your hands.
When you listen to audiobooks at 3X these things can happen.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a package from @BookaholicNatty on my porch. So kind and generous of you, and the books (including the tagged book) have been high on my TBR for a while! Thank you so much, Natalie!!! 📚💗😊 #LitsyFriends
Since I just picked this book up on a whim at the library, I had no expectations (and no real idea what the book was about even). But I found Nina George's prose lovely and captivating. And I was totally hooked the moment Marianne tastes her first raw oyster. I not only enjoyed Marianne's journey of self discovery and seeing herself anew, I was able to catches glimpses of myself in the pages
Went to the library just to pick up a book I had requested, and while there, thought I would just take a quick glance at the new fiction shelf...yeah. #booknerdproblems #weekendplans
My Thrift book haul just come in😍
I needed something kind, something positive and this book certainly are those things. Not earth shattering and a little predictable but exactly what I needed.
A bit scattered but otherwise good read, at times I felt there were too many storylines, but magical description of Bretagne compensated for that.
Wow, this book. Coming from someone who was able to get out of an unhealthy relationship and having to spend a couple years finding themselves again, I can appreciate every moment of this book. From the struggles of unbelievable pain to appreciating the importance of supportive people in life to loving yourself and to seeing how powerful women can be; this book explained it all. #love #strength #hope #beyourself #womenarepowerful #mpls #twincities
When traveling between states, having a number of doctors appointments, and it being spring break, I definitely have been making some headway on this wonderful book. Will be reading it with such a stupid smile on my face the entire time 😁 #travel #reading #productive #chicago #mpls #twincities #bookmarks

I‘ll admit it, I‘m a sucker for sweet stories about women turning their lives around. Little French Bistro was such a fun book!
Started this today. I‘m liking it ok. It is making me hungry however.. lol
