This was the perfect little book-nerdy graphic novel to finish off my #readathon. I ended up with almost 12 hours of reading/audio time and 712 pages. Next time, I hope to sleep less! #ReverseReadathon #DeweysReadathon

Only 5 hours of reading for me in this #DeweysReadathon #reversereadathon.

I did only find out about it a two days ago and already has plans with friends and needed to sleep rather than stay up, but I was able to finish one book and will be finished with another in about half an hour. So I‘ll still call that a success!

It was a good #Pokemon day too! 😉

Pickpick

After finishing All the Pretty Horses, I just couldn‘t jump back into my current audio so I went looking for something else in my available listens. This story of a group of men who attempted to walk across the border from Mexico to the U.S. in 2001 seemed a perfect complement to the story I had just finished. It is a harrowing story of persistence, death, and the situation at the border in the early 2000s.

Daisey @Lola Good to know! I really enjoyed the style of the book so I may need to check out another by him at some point. 3w

Finished my first book for the Deweys #reversereadathon (started before).

Loved it!😍 Any book that makes me both laugh and cry deserves all the stars. Ove definitely won me over with his (hidden) big heart ❤️

My reading spot right now for the #reversereadathon. Just about to start this one, a bit hesitant going into it, I must confess. But perfect day for reading out in the sun, that‘s always nice 🤩

Finished my second book for Dewey's Reverse Readathon. This was a great mystery. I liked the character and the atmosphere of the setting. The mystery was good - I did not guess the culprit until I was supposed to, yet after the reveal I can see the clues were there. Will definitely put the next one in the series on my TBR. #reversereadathon #deweysreadathon

I love listening to these audiobooks. The narrator does a great job with the different voices. I slept longer than I intended to, but am ready to devote the day to the printed (or recorded) word!

It took me a while to adjust to McCarthy‘s writing style, and for that reason I‘m glad to have been able to immerse myself instead of reading a few pages at a time. This story has a truly stark and western feel to me. The description of the setting and the travel through it is really what made the book for me. As for the plot, it seemed a quest with no real destination.

DGRachel I love McCarthy, but this one is still on my TBR. One of these days I‘ll get to it... 3w

It‘s taken me a bit to get used to the punctuation (or lack thereof) and style of this book, but I‘m enjoying it now. It absolutely conveys a feeling of the setting. Also, late night reading calls for ice cream.

JazzFeathers Odd style choices on the part of authors are always hard at the beginning. But there is always a pay off when there is a reason for it. 3w
Liz_M I can think of few occasions that don't call for ice cream. 😁 3w
Daisey @JazzFeathers I think I may need to read about McCarthy to understand it a bit more. As it was, the lack of punctuation seemed to fit the stark setting. (edited) 3w

Readerann @rmaclean4 Yay on finishing your first book! I‘ve been moving between a few different ones, so we‘ll have to see where my mood takes me. 😁 3w
