There is so much I liked about this book starting with the epigraph. : “Yes, I am Daddy. —Graham Simpkins, The Holiday” 😄 The first half was so strong. I went into this book knowing there were some elements of purity culture from Winnie‘s past but I was not expecting such an accurate portrayal. It may seem extreme to people who didn‘t grow up in this world, but I promise you it‘s not.

pickI finally got around to picking this up as a final readathon read this morning, and it was just what I expected. This story is so well told in words and art, but it‘s also a complete roller coaster for the emotions.

I've reached the halfway point of my third book and this feels like a good place to end my readathon run. I've had a great time picking out books throughout the day and then settling in for some dedicated reading time. Felt like each book was better than the last and now I'm ending my readathon with an absolute banger.

pickThis Hercule Poirot story is a low pick for me. It's not among my favourite Agatha Christie works, but it does have some very surprising twists and it features Ariadne Oliver, a character that I always enjoy.
