Such a weird book, I had no idea what was going on for half of it

I think this book world just generally be a great addition to a classroom library. I could definitely see students getting into this book even if they aren't the biggest fans of reading.

What if growing up meant choosing between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
This book invites readers to explore a world of what ifs in an enticing way.

This hands down is my favorite book with ghosts! 👻👻👻👻👻

This book is about a killer who enters a house intending to murder the toddler in his crib. Luckily, the smart and swift child escapes his crib house, wandering out into the night. The toddler then finds himself immersed in a graveyard and comes across two souls from the distant past. The two souls become the orphan toddler's guardians, adopting and raising him in the graveyard.

This book really pulls readers into the idea of “it takes a graveyard to raise a child“.

Book 15 of the year!
I absolutely loved that right from the beginning, it was easy to imagine this story about a boy and the graveyard that not just saves him but allows him to grow and learn from. I was entertained by y the additional amount of spirits, ghouls, and specters that Gaiman intros us to.
Gaiman narrates this story and I love that he narrates most of his books because there is something quite magical in how he reads them.

I chose books I didn't have to read in school, because the majority of books for the genre (that were required reading) were not my cup of tea.

Audiobook on sale today only. I loved the book so I had to grab it.

Neil Gaiman know how to write a book that really pulls you in and makes it feels like you‘re in the story.

Nobody Owens, or Bod, is a boy who seeks refuge in a graveyard after his family is murdered. He gets raised by ghosts and guided by a mysterious guardian named Silas, Bod grows up between the worlds of the living and the dead.

I enjoyed listening to Neil read me this story.

This is a headstone at our local cemetery. I'd love to know that story! 😄

I just finished listening to this book on Libby. I borrowed the ebook from Kindle Unlimited so I could do the word search and I‘m going to get a lot of word search points for this one. I think this book could be considered spooky because it‘s about a little human boy who lives in a graveyard and was raised by ghosts.

By just reading the first chapter I am engaged in the story and wanting to know more, this shows me that the writing would capture of attention of young adult readers

This book is perfect for students in grades 5-8 as it is filled with mystery and thrill. The book takes you on a heartfelt journey of a young boy growing up and finding his place in the world. This book would be great to use in a classroom for whole-class instruction and could have many literacy activities that accompany it.

The Graveyard Book is a young adult speculative fiction book about a boy named Nobody “Bod“ Owens who is adopted and reared by the supernatural occupants of a graveyard after his family is brutally murdered. This creepy fantasy book leaves you wanting to read more as it pulls you into the story.

Although I wasnt able to read this whole book I was able to research it some and see how it would be great for students. I personally think that this book might be a little mature than students that I will be teaching but it could be a great read for middle school age kids. This is a book that can really push a student towards the love of reading if this is the kind of books that they like.

I‘m up all night anyway so I figured that I might as well participate in this sprint and I‘ll also get points. I made a lot of progress in this book. Now, I‘m tired so I‘m going to bed.

This book is best for older grades such as 5,6,7, and 8. This book could be a little spooky for some students so it may be best to read as a class and then discuss in small groups what is going on or share how students are feeling. Lit circles would be good for this book because it seems that there are a lot of different elements in it.

The Graveyard book follows the dangers and adventures of Bod, also known as Nobody Owens. Bod lives in the graveyard with ghosts and spirits as his guardians. Bod has to face many dangers such as the man at the bottom of the hill and the ghouls, Steer, all while risking running into a man named Jack, who killed Bod's entire family. This book is horror and fantasy fiction.

The narrative contradicts the ordinary understanding of what the dead and the undead are like. It is also ironic that the dead and undead choose to protect a living boy, while the only living adult in the chapter intends to kill him. The story could be read by children as well as adults. Although their may be some scary/eerie factors for some children.

The novel centers around the nature of good and evil through the motif of life and death. The first chapter opens with the murder of Nobody's family, the action is then focused on Nobody‘s survival due to his adoption by the inhabitants of the graveyard.
