When a book has the phrase “cold as a frog‘s balls” in the first sentence, I think that it‘s a good omen. 😂

I still can‘t decide how I feel about the ending. But I did really enjoy this book and liked her writing. The fact that I can‘t really decide who the book was about is both the best and worst thing about the book I think?

svenezia (I‘m probably not going to start the tagged book yet, I bailed on that author‘s other book so I don‘t know if I‘ll be able to get through her writing) Anyone actually like this one? (edited) 5y
Lcsmcat I liked it on audio. It‘s not great literature, but it was a good story to listen to on my commute. 5y

It was a slow start but once it picked up it was like a really engaging, extended Law and Order episode. And one of the narrators sounded like a Baldwin brother 😂

Reecaspieces I am about to start this one. Glad to know about the slow start. I think most of his books are that way 6y
svenezia @Reecaspieces definitely glad I stuck with it though! I‘m about to start another book of his 6y
Reecaspieces @svenezia I was asked to review that one and could not get into it. So I didn‘t finish it. But it had wonderful reviews. Just too slow starting. But I bet the audible will be much better. Let me know what you think. 6y
CouronneDhiver I‘ve really enjoyed all three Eskens novels that I tried. 😊 A slower paced story is almost always my jam 6y

I have 1 Audible credit and 2 BoTM credits! Anyone have any recommendations for me before my broke butt deletes my subscriptions in favor of the library???

Bookzombie I‘m all about the library. 🙂Have you read Trevor Noah‘s Memoir? It‘s excellent on audio. 6y
Bookzombie I don‘t subscribe to BotM but I added this one to my TBR today after seeing everyone pick it today. (edited) 6y
svenezia @Bookzombie finally someone commented thank you! 😂 I actually just read Born A Crime a few weeks ago on audio and loved it- I used audible for it actually lol. I‘ll check out the second tagged book, thanks!! 6y
Bookzombie @svenezia I listen to a lot of audio, but a lot of it‘s series. I wanted to pick something excellent for you to use your credit on. You could also check out these books 6y

Now that I read the book I hate the movie 😬 It makes Claire seem so weak, the trajectory of the movie makes absolutely no sense on its own, they change a million things, it makes Henry seem like a total dick. #bailing

Cosyreader I felt the same. The ending was rubbish compared to the book! 6y
svenezia @Amy-Laura definitely! It made their relationship so obligatory rather than loving 6y

Took a trip to the library for some of the books on my #freakyfriday list by @Gayan ! Put in some holds on Overdrive for audiobooks for some of the other selections too (if that‘s not cheating) 😉 I‘ve heard of a few of the classics but haven‘t read anything on my list so I‘m excited!

Clwojick Love how excited you are! I can‘t wait either! 🤗 6y

Gayan I may read that one again soon. 6y
monalyisha Audiobooks definitely aren‘t cheating! In fact, when I made my list, I made it a point to specify if certain books were particularly great on audio! 6y

I'm Fine... and Other Lies | Whitney Cummings
Pickpick

I went into this book with little to no expectation; I don‘t particularly think Whitney Cummings is funny but like her as a person (as much as you can without knowing someone personally). This book is intended to be a self-help book, and I have to say it gave me a lot of much needed perspective. I highly recommend the audiobook rather than a physical copy, as her reading her own words back and hearing her reactions gives them more weight.

I have to stop reading books that start with the same letter!
The Husband's Secret kept me entertained. I thought the epilogue was a weird thing that should have been left for the reader to wonder, and I was a little dissatisfied with the ending in general. Overall though it was good!

Mehso-so

Am I the only one who thought this book was super bizarre?

CouronneDhiver I haven't read it, but I've seen quite a few mixed/conflicted comments lately... makes me wonder if I should bother...? 7y
svenezia It's just very far-fetched and made me feel so confused/weird lol. Most of the book was good but the way they explain how everything happened is just bizarre. @CouronneDhiver 7y
Linda906 I was really enjoying the book...until the ending ruined it for me. I guess I'm not as good at suspending disbelief as I thought. 😒 7y
MyNamesParadise The ending RUINED it for me and I will never read this author again! 7y
Reganw I agree. I was mad I'd spent the time reading it at the end. I have never felt that way about a book. I need to give it a few days and then assess my anger. Lol 7y
