Good afternoon! ☀️📖🥂
There are definitely emotional vampires all around us.
Wow. Just wow. Silicon Valley is known to have a high population of intelligent people but this book just makes me scratch my head.
I 💙war stories&this didn‘t disappoint. This is when Germany just started to occupy France&how they destroyed not only their city but literally thousands of lives.Thankfully there were people who didn‘t give up easily and helped in their own way. Some hid Jews in their homes and some joined the Resistance where they contributed by bombing the enemies or saving downed pilots. They risked their lives just to save others.#thenightingale #kristinhannah
A novel about strength, resilience, acceptance and moving on. I found this book very inspirational. Life has been a struggle lately and I think it‘s just perfect that I‘ve chosen this as my #bookofthemonth pick. This book is an easy read. I love Maggie‘s character. She‘s strong, funny and smart. I‘m in love 😍 with Ian, the Scottish physical therapist. 😂 I highly recommend this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4.5/5) #bookreview #howtowalkaway #katherinecenter
This book surprised me.I‘ve heard about it a long time ago and it‘s everywhere but I don‘t know why it took me a long time to decide to read it.I‘m so glad I did! This book is compelling and powerful. It‘s not just about who won the Oscars but it also talks about a number of important social issues which gave the story a deeper meaning.

Kristin Hannah showed us a beautiful picture of Alaska in her novel. I didn‘t know anything about how people in Alaska lived. Thanks to her, I learned a little bit about their daily living and how they survived in the beautiful but wild Alaska! 🌲

Hello Spring! ?I can‘t believe it‘s May already! ? I just want to share this picture I took last weekend at the Botanical Garden. I‘m so glad I got the chance to see the beautiful tulips!
And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth‘s dark breast rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

The Last Crypt by Fernando Gamboa.
If you like treasure hunting adventures and Templar stories, then this book is for you! However, I, personally, am not a fan of the protagonist. The love story feels forced and I dislike the ending. But, I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) because I enjoyed the action and mystery of the story.

An American Marriage is not just a story of love and marriage. It is also a story that tackles some of the social injustices that are present in society today. This book is truly an eye-opener and I highly recommend it!

The Last Equation of Isaac Severy is an interesting and fun read! I think I would have enjoyed it more though if I didn't expect it to be like other mystery novels like Nancy Drew or Sherlock Holmes.
I rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)
My March #bookofthemonth books! They are all so pretty! I chose The Last Equation of Isaac Severy because I‘m in the mood for a little mystery plus @sophiabush recommends it😉. My extra two books- An American Marriage and The Great Alone - Well, I‘ve heard amazing reviews from my fellow readers that I figured I really need to read 📚them too!

“You can‘t outrun what‘s inside of you. You can only acknowledge it, work around it, try and turn it into something better. I may not know exactly where I‘m headed, but this time I‘m choosing my own destiny.”
– Amy Engel, The Roanoke Girls
The Roanoke girls lived in a small rural town in Kansas (the State where I live). It‘s interesting to read a book where the place is familiar. I have mixed emotions about this book. A part of me likes the story because it‘s interesting in a twisted kind of way. There‘s also a part of me that feels sick about what happened. It‘s a good story, just prepare yourself for some twisted details. (Rating: 4/5)

Hi! I know it‘s not Thursday anymore but better late than never! 😂
1. Roanoke Girls - this is the last book I‘ve read and I‘m in the process of writing a review. 📝
2. Ken Follett - I love his books!!
3. Knowledge is Power!
Thanks for the tag!!
The plot has the potential to be great but this is a bit chaotic for me. I had a hard time understanding the first few chapters. I was very eager to find out what really happened at the Drowning Pool. However, the thrill or climax that I‘ve been waiting for didn‘t come. The ending could have been more a little exciting instead, it was predictable and ordinary. https://simplethoughtsbooksandcoffee.wordpress.com/

This is the first book I‘ve read by Meissner and I‘m absolutely sure it will not be my last. I love the way she writes and tells a story. I know that this is one of the books that I will never forget (probably because of the amount of crying that I did. Lol).I highly recommend this book especially to historical fiction fans out there and please don‘t forget to grab a box of tissues before you start reading!

Waaaay much better than the second book!
I love the ending of the whole series. Louisa Clark absolutely deserves a happy one! She had been through so much and because of her perseverance and positive attitude she turned her ordinary life to something extraordinary. We definitely could learn a thing or two from Miss Louisa Clark!

When We Two Parted by Lord Byron 💕
I think this is one of the most beautiful poems ever written. Can you imagine the emotion of Lord Byron when he wrote this? Indeed, it‘s haunting... and powerful at the same time. 💔

I enjoyed these books by Kevin Kwan. It‘s funny and entertaining! Don‘t expect a serious, deep and thought provoking drama though. These books are perfect for light reading. Have fun meeting all the quirky characters who love parties, fashion and gossip! Plus, who doesn‘t like books with gorgeous covers?! 💋💄👠👗🕶 I definitely do!

I didn‘t become a writer but, yes, reading books 📖 had been my escape from reality... when real life was just too much... it‘s nice to get away from real life sometimes (or most of the time 😂) and just immerse yourself in another world. 🦄 🧚🏼♀️🧞♂️🧜🏼♀️🧝🏼♂️🧙🏼♀️🧟♂️🧛🏼♀️ ~~~~

I finally finished it last night. I rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (2.5/5). It was slow-paced and the storyline was a little boring for me. I felt like I have heard this story before plus I didn‘t connect much with the characters. The whole story is about grieving the loss of Will (& other loved ones) but I‘m not feeling it at all and I usually tear up so easy. 🤷🏻♀️It wasn‘t all that bad though. I enjoy J. Moyes‘ humor! I had a good laugh on some parts!
I need more coffee ☕️. This book is making me sleepy. I love Moyes‘ ME BEFORE YOU but this one is disappointing. 😕 The story is nothing original. It‘s like watching a bad chick flick movie. I chose STILL YOU for my #botm and I‘m hoping the novel is nothing like this. 😩

I feel like it has the potential of becoming a movie or a series! It reminds me of the Netflix series Stranger Things where an alternate dimension exists in parallel to the human world and the monsters from this dimension are slowly turning up on the other side.

This novel was beautifully written. It's funny, witty and fascinating. I was engrossed and couldn't put it down until I finished it! It made me happy. It made me sad. It made me feel a lot of things and for me that's what makes a great book. Lang is such an awesome story teller! 💚 Check out my review: https://simplethoughtsbooksandcoffee.wordpress.com #books #bibliophile #reading #booklover #bookstagram #bookofthemonth #botm
Happy Love Month!! ❤️My February Book of the Month picks are here! 📚 I‘m just about to start Extraordinary Beast of Circumstance tonight and I‘m excited! I also can‘t wait to read Still Me by J Moyes since I very much enjoyed reading her previous books. It‘s cold tonight. Perfect weather to stay in bed, have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and read the perfect book. Stay warm and happy reading y‘all! 💕 #bookstagram #books #bookofthemonth #read
The book is full of interesting characters. And Cyril, Oh Cyril... Sometimes, I wish I could give him a hug. 😔 He had gone through so much and I admire his courage to move on every time. Although, I didn‘t find the writing very remarkable, I like how the author incorporated history, politics and current relevant issues in our society today like societal attitudes towards homosexuality, gender equality and HIV/AIDS to this compelling novel. 4/5
It took me a long time to decide which book subscription box to join. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to join #bookofthemonth . 📖 And let me tell you how glad I am that I joined!! Lovin the blue box and of course the awesome books inside it! I can‘t wait to receive the next one!! #januarybotm #bookstagram #books #botm #bookworm #bookshelf #booklover #booksofinstagram #bookclub
This memoir by M. Ishikawa haunted me for days. I have heard about North Korea‘s horrible situation but it only dawned on me how real it is after reading Mr. Ishikawa‘s personal experience. When he was already in Japan, the last letter he received from his son was in Autumn of 2005. Then the letters abruptly stopped.I keep on wondering if they are still alive.Hopefully, they did not get in trouble after Mr. Ishikawa‘s book came out. #books #memoir
Just finished reading this wonderful book! It's based on Pino Lella's story during the last few years of World War II in Italy. Some parts were just heart breaking that I couldn't help but shed some tears. My mind is still trying to think back and remember the things that has happened to him. I kinda got attached to Pino's character and Gen Leyers. I wish they found out more information about Anna and how Leyers found out that Pino was "Observer".
