From the USA Today bestselling author of Boyfriend Material comes a riotous Regency romp full of art, expensive hats, and a love that is nothing short of spectacular.Peggy Delancey's not at all ready to move on from her former flame, Arabella Tarleton. But Belle has her own plans for a love match, and she needs Peggy's help to make those plans a reality. Still hung up on her feelings and unable to deny Belle what she wants, Peggy reluctantly agrees to help her woo the famous and flamboyant opera singer Orfeo.She certainly doesn't expect to find common ground with a celebrated soprano, but when Peggy and Orfeo meet, a whole new flame is ignited that she can't ignore. Peggy finds an immediate kinship with Orfeo, a castrato who's just as nonconforming as she is--and just as affected by their instant connection.They've never been able to find their place in the world, but as the pair walks the line between friendship, flirtation, and something more, they may just find their place with each other.

Lovely Jade helped me cook breakfast and read SOMETHING SPECTACULAR, which is delightful so far. I do love a book that mixes lots of funny bits with lots of deeper bits.

I should‘ve taken a picture of my breakfast, too. It was beautiful: a fried egg atop cubed hashbrowns strewn with crumbled thick bacon, cheese, and a generous, artful drizzle of sriracha mayonnaise. Alas, it has now left this world, soon to return in a less appealing form.

Meant to post this last week, but I'm just 5 books away from filling out the #lgbtqbookbingo. I think I'll manage at least 2 more spots this month.

@kenyazero

Kenyazero Excellent progress! I've got a few spots left to fill in (terrible at posting my own progress), and am definitely drawing reading inspiration from other people's boards. 10mo

4/5

This was a very fun read. I hadn't read Something Fabulous, but I still enjoyed this book. It's a very spicy, regency reimaging full of fantastic LGBTQ+ characters. Peggy literally faints the first time she sees Orfeo perform, but they both have to figure out how to live their own lives and be together.

I always enjoy the way Alexis Hall writes, so enjoyed this, but it felt a bit all over the place, with a lot of secondary characters & a lack of balance in the development of the 2 MCs. I was expecting an over the top regency romp like Something Fabulous, but apart from one delightfully ridiculous poetry reading scene, it was closer in tone to the more angsty A Lady For A Duke. I wish he‘d slow down his writing pace & give more time to each book.

CarolynM I‘m loving it so far🥰 12mo
Lauredhel @CarolynM oh good! I've got a few paper library books that others have reserved to get through first, and I'm reading Devil in Winter to see what all the fuss is about... This one after that. 12mo
