This book made me cry. I love reading about marriage, about life after the HEA and what it‘s really like. Colleen Hoover‘s writing hooks me every time and I‘m gonna be lost now that I have to wait another year (at least) before I get another one from her.

Though not as steamy as I was hoping for, this was still a fun and sweet romcom escape that I was craving. It is supposedly being adapted into a movie and I think it will translate well!

“Who would drop a whole candy bar and not know it? ....Someone put it there on purpose. Someone who pushes dope. I read once that they feed dope in chocolates to little kids, and then the kids become dope addicts, then these people sell them dope at very high prices which they just can‘t help but buy because when you‘re addicted you have to have your dope. High prices and all. And Jamie, we don‘t have that kind of money.”

This is a book about healing. It's delightful and funny and frustrating and sad and beautiful. Learning how to accept your past and open your heart is so difficult. Eleanor Oliphant is an inspiration.

I truly adored this book. As someone who doesn't usually get into magical realism (and didn't love Emily Henry's first book) I was delighted and moved by this gorgeous book about grief and love. The writing was a perfect blend of humor and beautiful imagery.

Whether an accurate portrayal of old Hollywood stardom or not, I was fully invested in the story of Evelyn Hugo and the complications she faced, the sacrifices she made, and, of course, her torrid love affairs. Great read that had a lot of wonderful life quotes I won't soon forget!

This was a beautiful and emotional book about the subtleties of abusive relationships. Demetrios did an excellent job capturing Grace's spirit as it slowly goes out as she struggles to figure out her feelings. I loved it and I am hugging my 17 YO self.

I wish I liked this book more than I do. It deserves praise for being inspiring and honest about anxiety, autism, feminism, gender roles, bisexuality, and self-acceptance. I was truly moved by a lot of this. Unfortunately, I never connected with characters. It also has super insta-love elements that I couldn't get into. I think many people out there will LOVE it, though. #litsyatoz - Q #lrc17 #judgebycover because THAT COVER IS SO GORGEOUS.

The few complaints I have about this book pale in comparison to the importance of this book. Hatvany tells this story from two perspectives, giving us a look inside both the victim and the rapist's minds. What's so smart about this is the fact that she is acknowledging that rapists aren't always the creeps hiding in the bushes. Sometimes, they're people you care about. It's hard to read but man is it important. I'll be thinking on this a while.

This is required reading! A timely look at racism and the Black Lives Matter movement, this book is not afraid to explore society's problems. I learned a lot, but I also enjoyed stepping into Starr's world and seeing her family and friends. This book has moments that are hard to read, but it is also filled with humor, heart, and hope. What a fantastic book! I have been reading some truly excellent YA recently. This is a beautiful and heartbreaking story about a trio of friends who are all trying to move on to something better: Dill past the crimes of his father, Lydia past the small town she can't thrive in, and Travis past his abusive home life. It was not at all what I expected (that title can be misleading) and it's just a great book. #litsyatoz - Z for Zentner!

3 stars for this one. The story is adorable and I loved the concept and the fun, random dream adventures that Alice and Max experienced. Unfortunately, it did drag at some spots and I felt like it could've been cut down a bit to remove some unnecessary drama towards the end. Regardless, a fun read that was a nice break from some heavier picks! #lrc25 #freespace

I have complicated feelings about this book. I think it's an important story to tell and I think many people will learn something from it. We have to acknowledge that our actions affect people in harmful ways. That being said, I don't like that Hannah's death seems more like vengeance on the people who hurt her and less about mental illness. #LRC6 #published2007 #litsyAtoZ - A (Asher)

[DELETED] 1409720085 Totally agree. I felt like it was a weak portrayal of mental illness at best. Most of the time it seemed like Hannah only committed suicide to make others feel bad. There are much better books on this topic. 7y
MLVReads @emilydecato absolutely. Also, and not to let everyone around her slide for their bad behavior, everyone is dealing with different issues at any given time. As the story points out, many people were affected and/or haunted by their actions. And not all of them were against her, either. 7y

This is an incredible book. Absolutely loved it! The existential crisis is not new territory for me and I love how deeply and honestly it was explored in this book. Adam Silvera is a heartbreaker, but he does it with hope. This book is about losing your first love in more ways than one and trying to understand life after that. I think we can all find something to relate to in that. One complaint: I wish the dates didn't have years attached (there was a flaw in 1/17 that I couldn't ignore). #litsyAtoZ - H #LRC19 #LGBTQLove
